My FIL is a cast member and he is taking us to the parks later this month. We are staying at Saratoga Springs and have magic bands for our hotel and charging.

Does anyone know if we can get fast passes in the parks since my FIL is getting us in for free?

If going in on the CM's Main Entrance Pass (guest passes), those cannot be linked to the MDE at this time but you can get "day of" Fp's.

Just a word of caution though, be sure and have the CM check for park MEP blockout dates. MK is blocked out most of the summer, particularly June, July and the first couple of weeks in August each year. Not sure about the other parks as haven't checked them lately.

We are going to be there the weekend of June 19-22. We hope to go to MK on Saturday the 21st. Hoping it is not blacked out.

CM's have a phone number to call to hear a recording of the block out dates.---- ask your FIL to call for that info.

The blackout days are always subject to change. Yesterday they removed the block outs for this Friday, Sat and Sunday. Also, if your family member has Comp tickets those can be used for FP+ but only 7 days in advance. Those tickets the CM has to print out, there is a barcode and then you have to exchange them for a plastic ticket.

To answer your original question...yes once you get in the parks you will be able to get FPs. You just won't be able to do so in advance.

Thanks for this excellent info. My mom is (retired) Cast, so her only access to info is something called Yammer (?). Sadly no more Hub info, so I appreciate your insight.

My mom said her comps from this past January were actual plastic tickets, and not print outs (also, not her Maingate Guest Passes). Do you know if these most recent comps are already RFID enabled, or do they also need to be exchanged? And if they need to be exchanged, can that be done anywhere other than the MK Ticketing/TTC?

Sorry for the questions - thanks for the help :)

I think if you have actual plastic tickets you can link them to MDE...try anyway and see if it works. You should be able to tell by looking at it if you need to exchange it...everything we have always gotten clearly says if it needs to be exchanged and where. If you do have to exchange it (as it's a CM voucher that needs to be exchanged) then it would have to be done at one of the parks.

I am also a retired cast member and get the plastic comp tickets. You do need to exchange them at guest services for a one day pass. We exchanged them at the International Gateway since we stayed at the Boardwalk.

At least in MK, the GR@PE (Guest Relations at Park Entry - and no I'm not kidding about the initials - that is what they are called - GRaPE's) CM's that are behind the Park Greeters at the touch-points can also exchange them and should be able to do it at the other park entries also. Saves standing in all the long lines at the GR windows.
