Cast Lanyard Pins NOT SURE WHERE THIS GOES!

At the beginning of our trip we NEVER saw a cast lanyard pin, but the last 3 days we had so many we had to go to Character Premiere, and buy more pins! I think we ended up with like 50 cast lanyard pins. I finally traded some of mine off because I like other pins better! I was trying to get the Happiest Celebration set of Mickey, Minnie, Goofie, and Donald (they are only sold on a lanyard set) I get them all but Mickey so I guess it's off to ebay to find him LOL! Do you think it' s just we didn't notice them at first? (this is our first time doing pins) Or do they always have this many cast pins out?

No, you probably just hit the time right. Periodically, cm's are told it is time to "exchange" their pins. They trade all the pins on their lanyard for new ones. Many of these pins are "lanyard" ones. Sometimes when we have gone down to WDW we will find many lanyard pins on cm's lanyards, and sometimes we will find precious few.

Wow! You were very fortunate. We have NEVER seen a cast pin on a CM's lanyard.

They say cast lanyard series on the back, and the newer ones have a small mickey head hidden somewhere on the pin.

given only to cast members i suppose then huh... hmm not sure if i would want to put those on my lanyard. I wouldnt want to be asked to trade!

For those that don't know, cast pins are readily available on ebay. The cast pins I have are purchased from there. Of course, these are special pins (at least to our family) and we don't generally trade them.

We were there 10/1 to 10/9 and saw very few lanyard pins the entire time. I think dds ended up with about 5 of them and they traded A LOT. 2 of them were given to dd7 (after she already traded 1 pin) from a cm who had them in his pocket not on his lanyard.

How do you know which ones on ebay are the castmembers pins?

Tell me more about the little mickey head on the front of the pin.

We have a ton of pins but we really didn't know what to look for when trading, we just trade for the ones we like.

I went on ebay and didn't see any with a little mickey head on the front, so please give me more info.

We where there in June and a guy on the elevator told us about them but he didn't have his to show because he was coming from the pool.
