casinos

has anyone visited the casinos on st. martin? my dh plans on gambling while the rest of us shop and i was wondering the closest and best to go to. i have read that they are tourist traps but can't convince him of that. any suggestions?

Last Oct. my DH and I hit the casino's there we just played with the slot for alittle while . Didn't win anything.Was a waste of time.The shopping area is right where all the casinos are too, but as a woman I wouldn't want to run around there without my DH If you were thinking of buying any Rum or anything along those line St Martin is the cheapest island on the cruise for that Go have a good time, the Dutch side is just a bit different then any other Island I've been on before. But interesting .Have fun

The shopping area is where the casinos are at.DH and I were at the casino for an hour.I played there for an hour,and left there 20 dollars ahead.DH didn't win anything.It is a very small casino at least is compared to the ones in Mississippi that we have gone too.

On our last Eastern cruise, DH and I checked out the casinos. He was about to hyperventilate before he could get to one to gamble. However, after checking out about 2 or 3, he decided he didn't like any of them. They did look kind of seedy...but...we weren't in Biloxi or Vegas after all. I was very surprised that he didn't at least do some slots. There was one, next door to a McDonalds or BK or something like that....that looked pretty good to me...
there were about 2 or 3 huge security guards at the front doors....thought it looked safe..but he didn't like it. He was disappointed and I was shocked!!!!

Maybe next time....
