Living in Chicago I have come to have a strong fondness for this holiday celebrating a Polish Revolutionary War hero, who helped train the American troops.
You see, many of our schools get a 4 day weekend holiday - one that almost nobody else knows about - so....we go to Disney World between Presidents Day and the Spring Breaks - Crowds are low, temperatures are cool, and we don't have to take our children out of school. We did this 7 years ago and it was great! Anyway, the trip is of the four of us - DH, DW (the most remarkable woman I know), DS(13), and DD(19). DD is flying in from college to meet us for 3 of the four days. I remember watching my daughter at our last trip, she was 13, noticing how much she was going up and thinking the next time we went she would be going to, or in college, and sure enough....Time passes all too swiftly. Now my son is in that cusp of adulthood phase, going to High School, and all too soon he will be in college. Gather ye Disney Trips while ye may.
We leave in about 17 hours, unfortunately a stop-over flight so we won't get into Orlando until about 11:30 PM - Hopefully early enough to buy some last minute snacks and breakfast groceries for the room. I've got some ADRs set, Pop Century Reserv. checked, car rental OK, and we're ready (almost) to go. Today's going to be hectic to finish getting ready, but luckily the next four days will be more hectic, so we won't even notice....
