DD came home yesterday with the yearly updated IEP for me to review.
On the updated IEP it mentions that she has done a CASI assessment last month and that her score was 9.

Can someone tell me what this assessment is and where I can find a little info. on-line about it. I googled but came up with nothing.

Usually when the school does an assessment I am told, but this time wasn't.

Thank you.

Hello! I noted that you are also from Ontario. Our twins are students with the Toronto District School Board. There is a CASI (Comprehension, Attitude, Strategies, and Interest) reading assessment, typically done in the junior grades. Every child in elementary system in the TDSB will have a reading assessment done 1-2 times/year, either the CASI (typically Gr.1-3) or the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA, typically Gr.4-6).

Is you child in/reading at the junior grade level? I am not familiar with the scoring system as my guys will be doing their first CASI this term.

I also tried to find more on the internet (because I'm interested in the levels/scores as well) and was surprsed there wasn't more.

Does this sound right?

I bet that is the one. She was given the test at the beginning of this year, grade 4. She is 9 years old.

She received a score or 9. I have no idea whether or not this is a good score.

I have called the school but no one has gotten back to me yet. At least I can now look up the test on line and get a little info. before the school calls me back.

Thanks
