can you still buy tix at the park gate using cash? how about using cash at the resorts? with the crappy exchange rate, we would prefer not to use our credit card

There are also a number of credit cards who do not charge the extra percentage on the exchange - capital one, amazon, and I believe Sears.

The Sears card is no longer. Scotiabank bought the Sears card from Chase, and replaced the Sears Mastercard with a Scotiabank card. No word on whether or not they will keep the same policy of not charging the foreign transaction fee, but I doubt it.

Capital one charges extra too. I just know of the Amazon card that give you the given days rate without any extra % added on.

But even with a card that doesn't add a couple of percent to the rate, if you bought your cash say a month ago you probably got it at a much better rate from the bank back then, over the current rate even with a card that doesn't add extra percentage points.

I do some work for US companies and get paid in US funds, so I put that money in a separate US fund account and take it out in cash for my trips to WDW. Never been a problem!

The other way to look at all this is the fee is normally 2.5%. That is $2.50 per $100 or $25 per $1000. For simplicity just having one CC that you earn points on and not have to worry about anything else, just go with it. The way the dollar is now, is a lot worse then the 2.5%

You're going to pay 2.5% fee whether on credit or exchanging for cash.Unless you're going to spend all the cash or planning on going back to the states, you're going to pay another fee again to change it back.Unless you see the dollar losing another 2.5 cents by the time you go,there's no advantage to bringing cash only.I'd bring some cash for little things but otherwise a CC.You're paying the exchange either way,but you're cc gives you the rate at time of purchase and only on what is charged.

I love the Amazon Visa! I have used it to pay off the rental home, Disneyland tickets, hotel. That's a good chunk of change by not paying CIBC that 2.5%. I use it for all my Ebay purchases too!

I just got my replacement Scotiabank Momentum MC for my Sears MC and it says on the features that they do not charge a foreign transaction fee. I guess they continued whatever perks we had before, although who knows how long they will do that.
