How much cash do you bring for tipping? Other than housekeeping, who do you tip? We'll be staying at CBR for 6 nights. What's an average tip for that resort? Normally we just stay at pretty cheap hotels, so I'm not really sure what to tip!

I tip housekeeping every day. You may not have the same housekeeper for the whole stay. I tip $1 dollar per person in the room, and then a dollar on top of that. If they help you bring your bags to your room, or handle your bags in any way, tip $1-$2 per bag. And if you take a taxi tip the CM that gets you the taxi a dollar or two.

Don't forget to tip the magical express driver. Just a couple of dollars.

Its fun to have your kids decorate the tipping envelopes - they can write a little thanks and include their names and home town.

I would tip the Magical express driver 2 or 3 dollars, and give a tip to housekeeping for about 6-10 dollars. At the end of your stay that is.

We don't use much cash, as we charge tips for meals back to the room on our bands, and pay it off at the end of the trip with Disney Rewards or c.c. We tip housekeeping $2-3/day, and for luggage at airport and resorts, $5-10. It's good to have a few dollars when you head to the park in case there is a vendor that doesn't do magic bands, but that is very few and far between.

We tip mousekeeping $1 per person/per day. Anyone that handles your luggage should get a tip...Magical Express, Airport, Airport Shuttle, etc. Also, if anyone delivers something to you (luggage, package, etc.)

We tip mouse keeping about $5 a day. We leave our privacy sign up every other day since we think it's unnecessary every day. We tip every day we get mouse keeping in case they switch/ ones off it wouldn't be fair to anyone else who cleaned the room. We tip $3-$5 (depending on how many of us/ how much luggage) the magical express driver, the people at the resort airline check in and anyone who helps with our luggage. We usually aren't in our room when they bring our checked baggage so we leave a tip for them on the table with a note that says thank you.

Thanks for the info! We're not flying into Orlando, so no magical express for us. Do you tip the bus drivers that take you from the resort to the parks? What about the BBB? Can I just add the tip when I pay for the service?

You don't tip the bus drivers that take you from the resort to the parks, I think they aren't allowed to take it even if you wanted to. We once had an amazing bus driver, he was hilarious so I took down his name and at the end of the trip wrote an email to Disney about him. Disney ended up calling me in response and said they would mention it to his leaders so he could be recognized for his work!
Never did BBB.

At a moderate, the only "officially" tipped position (meaning that wages are sub-minimum because tips are expected) would be bell services. Generally, $1-2 per bag for anyone who handles your luggage.

Some guests choose to tip their housekeeper $1-2 per person in the room, per day. If you do tip housekeeping, do it each day, as you may well have a different housekeeper every day. The problem with tipping a lump sum at the end of your stay is that you may be giving the tip to a housekeeper who never cleaned your room during your stay.

Disney transportation drivers are not tipped.

If you're using Disney Magical Express, I understand that your luggage might arrive from the airport to your room while you're away. Does anyone know if there's an expectation of a tip for that service? Either way, do the luggage handlers pool their tips so that it hopefully "evens out" by the end of the trip?

No, you don't tip for DME delivering your bags. You probably won't see them to tip them anyway.

We never tip the resort to park and vice versa bus drivers. We handed the fairy godmother in training at the BBB a tip last year. Not sure if that is customary but that's what we did and she happily accepted.

No, there's no tip expected when DME bags are delivered, for just that reason - most guests probably won't be in the room when the bags are delivered. Disney compensates the people who deliver DME bags accordingly.

Bell services wouldn't deliver our bags from the ME until we were in our room. Is it different now?

Bell services is not DME. If you hand your bags to to bell services or if you switch resorts they typically won't take your bags to your room without you being in the room. If you used the yellow tags and didn't grab your bags yourself at the airport DME should have placed them in your room for you.

As a rule, I usually try and tip anyone that A) I know relies on tips on some level...or.... B) where a tip may positively effect the service delivery .......Like the guy at an open bar where there are signs that say no tipping (back in my drinking days)....a well placed $20 could make all the difference for the rest of the night ;)
