Hi DVC Fans,
I'm hoping to reserve a GV for an upcoming family vacation, but I do not have enough points for the entire time we'd like to stay, even with borrowing and banking. Is it possible to pay cash for an extra night or two, and if so, would I receive the member discount? And, does anyone know what the GV costs per night - I know it will vary from resort to resort, but I cannot find rates anywhere and MS wasn't able to help me. I'm beginning to wonder if GVs can be reserved on cash. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think DVC villas are usually reserved for DVC members only. Have you considered renting points?

you can reserve them on cash. I have no idea what the current pricing is. You'd have to contact the DVC on that. There isn't a discounted rate for them. Renting pts. will be cheaper.

We have been able to make cash reservations for GVs at HH for years and also got the member discount. However, our cash nights were always weekends which typically are not reserved using points.

For the WDW GVs, I would still call MS and try for a cash reservation. Your best chance will be for weekends but you won't know what else might be available until you try.

Good luck! It is worth a try to extend a reservation. :)

Wow. that's good to know that a member discount may be available. I know we couldn't get a discount but we reserved at the Boardwalk and it was 10 yrs ago. Can't remember the price but it was around Thanksgiving which may explain things.
