Are there many places in the parks that don't take credit/debit cards? FI and I really don't carry cash on us and really planned on using a credit card (specifically american express) for most of our honeymoon to rack up the rewards. I just want to be prepared in case it's not widely accepted.

What would you all suggest?

TIA!

the only places at Disneyland that doesnt take credit cards are the ODV carts... aka Churros, popcorn Ice Cream carts...

Thats about it... however there are atm machines spread out for you to use in case you need money...

You can also buy disney dollars with your AMEX when you get to the park and use those for snacks where credit is not accepted.

I almost never take cash, and we manage just fine. :) When we do DL as a vacation and spend more than 1 day in the park, I usually take about $100 in cash and then my credit/debit card. The cash goes pretty much untouched, but it's nice to have if I want to get a churro or something.

ooh..good to know. a friend of mine at work gave me some disney dollars for a shower gift. i was told that they could be used pretty much anywhere.

My wife just cashed in her Chase Disney Rewards Visa points for a Disney Rewards card, which we plan on using for meals, snacks and souvenirs in the park(s). May I assume it will work everywhere a credit card will work, but that it won't work at the ODV carts, for which I'll need some cash?

oh this is good info.
we try to use the visa for everything!! But always bring $25 in DD per kid to spend how they choose! Snacks , wierd souviners. whatever they want, that way there is no "mom can I have that," all day! Disney Dollars are the best. Santa will be bringing them this year to the kids!!!!! In a fun scav, hunt!!
