Cash needed for Universal?

We use our rewards credit card for everything. Other than tips, will we need any cash for Universal?

Taxis take credit cards, right?

We actually needed cash at one ice cream stand in the park. It was a stand alone cart. But, everywhere else we used our cards.
I used Uber and the on file credit card. Taxis I've been in in other cities take cards though so I'm sure Orlando is no different.

I suggest doing the room charging thing. It limits your exposure to theft. The more times you hand that card to someone, the more chances the number can get stolen. Happened to my wife last year. We're certain it was someone at the Hard Rock Cafe right outside the park gates as that is the only place she used it. We used my card for the room charges and for everything else. The crook charged about $200 worth of stuff at a Home Depot in Orlando that same day. Chase was spot on in handling it though, which was a pleasant surprise.

I will definitely take advantage of the room key charging. Just notified my credit card companies of our travel tomorrow!

macraven.. do you load your room incidentals / charging with gift cards and not provide a credit card for incidentals? the info i got from rpr concierge said you could do that but you still need a cc.

The hotel requires a cc on file or you can not do charge back to hotel

I place mine on file when I check in.
I'm at the hotel for 14 nights

Every few evenings I check my room account . I know many that check theirs on their room tv .

I go to the front desk with my gift cards and have it applied to my account.


I buy many gc in advance but I do buy more gc in the parks
Depends on the character on the card.....lol

What I don't spend , I use during the next visit

If you have not paid with gc before at the hotel, remember not to wait until you check out to settle your bill

UO hotels let you bypass the front desk when checking out
Final bill is ran during the night and if you owe any charges, they put that amount on your cc

I settle my bill the night before I check out
I use cash or gc my final day in The parks
