Cash for Old Laptops

Does anyone know of any stores offering good deals for old laptops. I know Best Buy offers a $10 for each laptop, but I was wondering if there were any other deals out there.

Also, do the laptops have to be functional? I'd prefer to remove all the memory before I recycle them.

Depending on how old your laptop is, there are people that will buy them. I just sold my broken (laptop screen freezes) for $180.00 on ebay. So that would be a better place to get more money ,if your laptop is still worth something more than Best buy offers.

You can try to sell it. In my town you would pay $5 for them to take it off your hands at the recycling center, so while $10 might not seem like much it's better than paying to get rid of it. You could also put it as an item in a yard sale, that is one thing the professional bottom feeders look for.

I just sold my 2005 Dell laptop to gazelle.com - they gave me $75 for it and sent a pre-paid shipping label for me to send it to them. It was fully functional, not sure how much they'd give (if anything) for a non-funtional laptop. You can go on their website & put in the specs of your laptop to see how much they'll offer.

I was also going to recommend gazelle. We sold our Kindle our Gazelle last year - I was really pleased with their service and the price we got.
