Hi,

Is it advisable to bring little cash and use the credit card for everything?

I presume everywhere in DLRP accepts credit cards and I know there are ATM machines.

Also, does anyone know if you can use the credit card to buy your tickets for the SNCF in the machines at the train station? Saves us carrying too much cash.

Thanks

For our summer stay we had very little cash and used our nationwide credit card extensively for all purchases - food, shops, photographs etc.

As we got a better exchange rate would definitely be doing this again :)

I'd agree with Cyrano,

I used my credit card for meals, souvenirs, tickets etc, and even with the fees charged by my credit card, it worked out no more expensive than it would have been had I bought euros here in the UK beforehand and paid in cash at DLRP (as the exchange rate is so poor).

and even with the fees charged by my credit card,
We have a nationwide credit card and debit purely for use during holidays as there is no commission/transaction charges for use abroad :goodvibes

Thanks for that.

We use Euro anyway so wouldn't have to worry about the exchange rate.
