Cash Availability vs Point Availability

I understand the difference between the two pools of inventory in general, but is there ever a reason or opportunity for CRO to transfer a unit back to MS for booking?

I am waitlisted for the last two nights of our trip - we have a back-up room booked in another view category at the same resort (BLT), but is there any chance I could get the room? The regular Disney (CRO) shows availability, DVC does not.

If the room is going to set empty....... :rolleyes1

I know - asked and answered before, I'm sure....but this is the first time it has affected me. I really, really don't want to have to switch rooms for those last two nights.

Probably not. If it were available to be moved back, it would be moved back already and there wouldn't be a waitlist.

To DVC that empty room is like the car you sold neighbor sitting in his driveway when yours is in the hands of your teenager....it may not be being used, but isn't yours to use anymore.

:lmao: Best analogy ever! Thanks for clearing it up in my mind. Although.....at this point I'm really wanting to try to wheedle the neighbor into a favor! :rotfl:

Potentially. The ONLY bucket of rooms where this might happen, and anecdotally appears to have happened in the past, is the breakage inventory which does belong to DVC members who will get the profit proceeds if it's rented. The rest, not a chance even if it sits empty.

Just an update -

We WERE able to keep our theme park view room for the whole trip. I asked at check in and they told me to check back periodically with the front desk. I did - but not every day. When my dh checked in on Thursday evening, they told us to ask again on Friday morning - that was to be the day of our move.

It worked! :cool1:

I called the front desk and the first person listened to what I wanted and put me on hold. Another person came online, verified the room type was available and then confirmed with me the difference in points. All easy peasy! It was great to not have to move all of our stuff for those last two nights!
