Casey's Is Ruined For Me!

If you have a particular allergy, I think it is your responsibility to say something about it before biting into that bun and do you own research.

I do agree but lots of people wouldn't expect to find sunflower seeds in their pizza so they may not check. They are great with allergies but they also can go way overboard and it can take forever to get a manager over etc so I think in some cases people would rationally think that a burger wouldn't have all kinds of seeds in the bun that aren't visible.

My kids raved about it & that's why they wanted to go back a 2nd time. Did someone say there were nuts in the crust?

There are not nuts in the crust just various seeds, rye flakes, etc that can involve cross contamination with nuts so these items aren't safe for people with nut allergies.

Really? I'm such a picky eater & didn't notice this at all. One of my DD's hates any kind of wheat or rye bread & she is the one that raved most about the pizza. She's older too (18) so it's not like she's too young to notice something like this.

I really don't remember any kind of seeds or a different texture to the dough or crust. We loved it.

Some one said someone with allergies needs to do thier reserch how can they if they are unaware of the change as people were saying on another thread i was reading the people who read the Dis are only a small fraction of the people who goes to Disney world. Not every one is going to know of the switch unless it is posted (someone said they read the ingrediants book and it didnt have things listed that were in the food.)

We do not have food allergies in my family, but my nephew does & my sister always asks, regardless of what's posted or not.

I would think (but I could be wrong) that if someone had severe food allergies they or their parents would be extremely cautious & always question more than once what ingredients are in the food they are being served.

Ya know, I always gain a few pounds between Disney vacations, esp. thru the holiday season. Then I WALK and EXERCISE and EAT HEALTHIER so I can lose those pounds so that on vacation I can SPLURGE!! Heck, maybe now I oughta splurge at home and use my Disney vacation as my dieting time:rolleyes: . This is ridiculous. To OFFER a WHOLE wheat bun or pasta versus the regular(still made with WHEAT, of course, as its always been:rolleyes: ) is fine. But to change ALL of it with no choice for the rest of us is ridiculous, esp. when the powers that be at Disney HAVE to know how prominent nut allergies are these days. Any seeds that are in the bun would have probably been processed in the same factory as nuts. Its ridiculous. If this continues, I can tell you now, we'll eat offsite, bring our own food, or go back to the room and eat out of our cooler. I just don't get it.:confused3

But, for the people that are local and go often I agree something should be posted about the change. We have food allergies, we go to the parks OFTEN. I found out of the changes by accident in conversation with WDW food allergy people. The chicken that was ok yesterday is not ok today. And you have to remember it sometimes takes time for the ingredient binders to be updated.

I agree.
I have peanut and egg allergies and I always question what the ingredients are. Even at home, i check ingredients every week when i go food shopping just to make sure that the ingredients haven't changed in something i usually buy(and they have changed within a week sometimes) and even in restaurants i go to every week, i ask for ingredients even if its the same thing i ate the week before
Unfortunately, its not just WDW that changes what they use without telling people, its everywhere that does it.

Well, maybe a little bit of a different opinion, but I love "wheat" bread and multi-grain bread, even for my hot dogs and hamburgers. But, I also realize that everyone does not and I agree that there should be a choice.

That being said, I do not think it is Disney's responsibility to only produce foods that have absolutely no chance of triggering one of about a million allergies someone could possibly have. If you have a particular allergy, I think it is your responsibility to say something about it before biting into that bun and do you own research.

My two cents.

True what you are saying, but Disney prides itself on catering to families with food allergies, and this is why we continually choose to vacation here. However, with many of these changes, it seems like they are making it harder, not easier for any choices, particularly for children.
