Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

I don't know when she left, but I know when Lee got off the stand and walked out of the courtroom, Jose stated that his next witness was in the bathroom. He failed to mention who the next witness was, just that they were in the bathroom. He said it with a kind of smirky grin on his face too. That's when JP called a break. Then after that court break, Jose called Cindy to the stand.

I just found it odd that Cindy was in the bathroom during her son's testimony.

I found that odd too. Wouldn't most people want to see what their child was going through up there?

I was cleaning a few minutes ago and caught something about tampering with the body before it was found. What the heck is that? Someone has a video of someone else on the phone while they are searching an area close to where the body was found. I'm telling you, this is one messed up case!

I can just see it now, Casey walks from this and becomes a millionaire from writing books and doing interviews and having a movie out about all of this. :rolleyes1 I sure hope not!

Found these things:

**Someone made an intriguing comment on Reuters that he believed " the trial was halted for the Court to investigate the perjurious
statements made by some members of the Anthony family and whether the
defense team conspired to suborn perjury."

and

Mason is troubled with Baez handling of the case & evidence. Mason is now concerend that Baez has crossed the line of defending his client & having the family commite perjury. Mason no longer wants to be a part of it.

I think I believe the first part.

I certainly felt the Anthony family suddenly decided to circle the wagons.

I didn't buy into any of Lee's testimony yesterday. I felt it was staged. I think the tears and angst were more that he felt ashamed about lying and communicating this "dysfunctional family" story. I sensed the plan was for him to say MUCH more than what he did on the stand. Baez kept asking..."Is there anything else... " or something to that effect.

what is Reuters? it could very well be. I was thinking that the judge may think something is wrong also.

You know if Baez is caught lying about this stuff, guaranteed Baez will throw the whole family under the bus and say they talked him into it.

See, that won't work. He is the lawyer, HE is the one that is supposed to know the law. If it's against the law, then nobody should be able to talk him into doing anything.

That is a very good point! Cindy stated weeks ago on the stand that she remembered putting the ladder on the side of the house. She clearly changed her story on the stand yesterday. I agree that was Baez doing along with the Anthony's. I also got the impression that Lee didn't want any part of it but he was doing this to help his sister. I can see Mason walking if this is the situation.

He is the one who violates court orders. Baez seems to pick and choose which ones he wants to follow.

.

During cross of Lee Anthony by JA , he seemed to really try to get this point across.

I have to believe the prosecution has decided enough is enough w/ the Anthonys sworn depositions and their current lies.

I wonder if George and Casey were crying b/c the defense is at the point in their case they are going to try to prove the molestation allegations...I dont think George is going to fall on the sword for ICA as her mother did though, w/ his LE background.

you know if George lies about that he would never get a job in LE again. That has no benefit to incriminate himself. That only gives him a record. I do think that the Pros have had enough of this game playing as well as Perry. Something needs to done here.

That IS interesting. I wonder if the state disproved some of the Anthony testimony, like about whether or not Cindy was working when those searches were made, and whether or not she made phone calls to George about the ladder being left in the pool. And that whole thing with Lee's testimony was just plain weird. Maybe the state DOES want to go after the Anthony's for perjury. Wouldn't THAT be interesting. If so, where would that leave this case? Maybe they would work out a plea at this point, if that were the case. :confused3

Of course, despite my numerous hours observing this case, I don't REALLY know enough to be a lawyer.

A lot of people keep mentioning GA's LE background. How long was he a cop? Personally, I think too much stock is being put into his previous LE experience, as we are not dealing w/a normal nor rational set of circumstances when it comes to this family.

If he "lies" and does what the defense wants, he'll be admitting to disposing of Caylee's body and molesting ICA. He won't do that if it's not true. Cindy and Lee have not admitted to any crime, for George to admit to something it would be one of those crimes. Bid difference.

Do you have a link? Can't find it on Reuters. Or did you find the information from another site? Websleuths?

I agree and I really hope that Cindy would not want to put her Husband in that situation for Casey. I would say there is something wrong with Cindy and she needs help in the worst way. this whole thing is crazy.

At this point after this week I believe Cindy is perfectly willing to throw her own husband under the bus.

Didn't JBP say an issue has arisen that both sides agree...

Wonder what it is that both agree it is a problem? Or was he just being equitable again?

Curiouser and curiouser.

Jeff Ashton said " I can't tell ya". interesting that it is something that is being withheld beyond the normal jury exclusion from knowledge.

If it is perjury on the part of the Anthonys, the court (JBP) probably needs to work out how to handle it, with respect to the whole trial, or what to tell the jury (does he say to the jury "disregard all testimony of Cindy Anthony", etc?). It would certainly be big enough that they couldn't proceed today, with any witnesses. Seems like the prosecutors had enough time to get work/phone records to prove Cindy's statements wrong, and maybe brought it all to light today. And it DOES seem that Lee didn't testify the way the defense expected yesterday.

So, as far as both sides agreeing, I'd say if it's anything like what I posted above, it would be agreed by both sides that they could not hold court today. They may not agree on where to go from here.

All speculation, of course.
