Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

Death row is more like a life sentence. I think I would rather have my kid spend the rest of their life on death row than in the general population of a prison.

And how could she lie after hearing that Baez opening statement? To blame her husband for covering up the murder and use the molestation angle. Sick.

I disagree with NG, they shoudl persue purgery charges, if they can prove it. I have no sympathy for a grandmother who treats her granddaughter like trash.

I wish their was a picture of Caylee on that witness screen when she said those lies.

Just finished reading a thread on WS and a couple of people had an interesting take on Cindys testimony today. I haven't researched their facts but it seems to be in line with what I remember.

I pulled out the posts that discuss it from the page linked below.

I'm sorry I'm never quite clear . hopefully Mendz can help out here.

so to clarify... here is what i think you mean, tell me if i am right.

cindy testified today to doing the searches on march 17 for the following: google search for "chloraform" "alcohol" "acetone" "peroxide"
wikipedia search for "inhalation" "chloroform" "alcohol" "acetone" "peroxide" "hydrogen peroxide" and "death"

however, in cross after being asked about specific terms by LDB basically testified that she did NOT do the searches on march 21st for the following:
google searches for "shovel" "neck breaking" "household weapons" "self defense" "how to make chloroform" and Wikipedia search for "shovel"; also searches on blogspot.com, sci-spot.com, druglibrary.org and instructables.com for "making weapons out of household products," "chloroform habit," "chloroform" "how to make chloroform" and "chloro2"

we know from records that george was proven to be at work that day. and cindy said she did not search "how to make chloroform" but rather just "chloroform". and she did not cop to searching for "neck breaking" either, just mentions seeing it - but someone on the computer searched for it, if not cindy. so cindy didn't search for any of the march 21st items, and george was at work. so, logic would extend that casey is the one to do the searches on march 21st. and THOSE searches are the ones that tie into premeditation (she wasn't just researching chloroform, she was researching HOW TO MAKE chloroform, plus all those other SUPER HINKY searches).

did i get it right? if so... i feel much better about all this! thanks for making this point!!! this really cheered me up!

Now I have no clue if George was off that day. I don't have time to research it but maybe some of you know if he was or not.

I was furious with Cindy today and I still am, but this made me wonder just a wee bit.

Actually, I do not think she was lying for George in the least. She did these searches, even talked about them earlier with the state attorney, but because of her work records saying she was working, she didn't want them to blame George. The actual searches for that day are not that bad when you consider her testimony, which I now agree is the same as it has been along with "further explanations" that we have not heard.
The searches on the 21st are the key here and Casey was the ONLY one who could have done them.

I think this was done in a way that Baez thinks the same as most here, that Cindy lied, lied, lied and because of that, he can impeach her testimony and try to make the jury believe that she is a liar who is just trying to cover for George because his work records said he was Off on this day.
Would Baez open the door to the state bringing in the texts messages, the phone records, so on and so forth if so? OOOOOhhhh and the photobucket uploads?

Notice that LDB @ 12 minutes asks specifically about March 17th. Confirms March 17th, and never pushed the March 21st date. She states the date once.

Then, at 18 minutes she confirms Chlorophyll. Denies "how to make Chloroform" in the deposition and todays testimony. That is not a lie.

At 20:40 LDB asks about "how to make" again to confirm that she is not lying. They know what was typed and what was recommended spelling from the search HTML stuff.

Self defense, household, neck breaking, shovel, was the 21st.... then March 17th Inhalation, alcohol, acetone, peroxide, hydrogen peroxide,. Those were all asked in proper groups, but again, March 21st was never said again by LDB. Then she asks further for making weapons, chloroform habit,

Prosecution confirmed she did not lie. The "Chloro2" and maybe the "druglibrary" were the only 2 overlapping sites that Cindy might have visited.

Then with the trunk, they were sure to point out that Cindy knows of the Stain on marker B only. The "body stain" is new to the car. (Sorry to restate that Mods, I'm just clarifying for someone else.)

But of course, JB only asks about the password and computer access on re-direct. He confirms that the Chloroform is "nothing new". hehehe.... too bad, so sad JB.

Look at Cindy's work records (page marked 2561 on bottom right), the March 17th day has the "homework" marked for JB. Too bad the Prosecution didn't mark the 21st for him.

Harmless chloroform searches marked on the 17th, and "intent to kill" wasn't marked on the 21st.

A quick thank you to Cindy for not lying. Thank you to their family lawyer too. He confirms her story hasn't changed.

After reading what was posted it does seem plausible. I'd like to think that Cindy hasn't totally thrown Caylee away as well but I'm not 100% convinced.

What do you think?

Websleuths. Another place to spend time...

I hate to admit this, seeing how unpopular it is here, but after thinking it over and remembering what my better half says all the time, I may just lie to spare my childs life.

She's always saying how she (daughter) can do no wrong in my eyes, which is only partially true.

That, with the prospect of her facing death may just get me to do anything....I'm a sucker, what can i tell you.

Now, there is no grandaughter that i must consider here, so things could change down the road.

Yikes, I saw the afternoon testimony yesterday, but haven't read the thread so my first reactions would not be changed by everyone's input.

I'm trying to think like a juror here, so please don't chuck rotten tomatoes at me. As I said, I didn't follow the unfolding of the case so am seeing this with comparatively fresh eyes. Hope this is useful to you all.

I was concerned about Cindy's testimony. It seemed to challenge the Prosecution's case about the chloroform searches. But (in contrast to the first time she was on the stand when I thought she was credible) I decided she was lying to protect her daughter from the death penalty on this.

She was very uneasy, spoke too fast, and babbled away giving way too much other questionable information. What was all that chatter about how her timesheets at work weren't accurate? Of course employers can access computer activities without personal passwords. As a dog-owner, I'd be searching for "bamboo and dogs" not for Chloraphyll. Don't be silly, Cindy! This stuff doesn't make sense.

I was confused by the computer records testimony. The 84 searches by Casey for chloroform are important to the State's case, but not essential. If there was just one search on the 84th day, that could be accidental. I hope the IT people on the jury can explain that testimony to the other jurors because it confused me.

So, I still don't have enough to get to "reasonable doubt," but it wasn't a good day for the Prosecution IMO.

So Jose is on e again taking evidence OUT of context.

Kinda like finding two pairs of gloves at OJ's crime scene. Defense showed one pair doesnt fit--but the other will fit like a glove.

State is incensed. But they should be able to recover. They certainly won't forget to point it out.

hosebags job is to create doubt. if he confuses the jury (doesn't take much with him - he just needs to open his mouth and you sit there like a toddler blowing bubbles with your spit) enough then there is a better chance they'll vote for a lesser charge because they are confused

juries will err on the side of causion rather then vote to send someone to the chair or put a 22 year old in jail until she dies because they made a "mistake"

if you only go on facts and not emotion they take it out of the hands of the jury and either give it to the judges who can see throught the emotional bs or robots/computers

plug in the data and a sentense pops out

that's interesting. Their (George and Cindy's) lawyer pretty mush said the same thing..that she searched the word..she did not search "how to make".

At the time to me it sounded like he was talking in circles, trying to confuse. Now, reading that and taking a second look, it looks like JB was the one talking in circles and trying to confuse. He is hoping the jury wasn't paying attention to dates and words that were typed.

I'm still not ready to jump back on the feel sorry for Cindy train..but it does make me think about waiting at the station to see what comes along next.

Ok, Mason is having a long conversation with Casey. I wonder if he is prepping her for her testimony....

Is it weird that I'm enthused to be up? I hardly ever wake up early enough or have nothing to do, but I'm actually getting to watch today!

At least for now. Then I have to, you know, make breakfast and stuff. Shucks.

I'm not sure I can take another day of Cindy on the stand. My nerves can't take it! My stomach is in knots!

I just turned it on, what happened? The judge isn't happy, they should have done something at 8:30?

Morning All!:surfweb:

I just turned on In Session and I see JB is talking about the shorts being too small for Caylee. My question is: they were Caylee's shorts though right? Also, KC had a closet in her trunk of her car right? I mean, the shirt Caylee was wearing Cindy never saw it. But it was shown in a pic that KC knew about the shirt.

When my DD was that age, half of the clothes she wore were 24months, and half were 3T. Those two sizes are pretty similar. She could have easily fit into 24 months and still wore 3T. This is a smokescreen.
