Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

It could very well be that she was looking into attorneys before Caylee's death, just in case she didn't get away with it, and found Baez.

That long story about how she found Baez did kind of discredit hearing it from an inmate. So, with that said, she may have heard his name from someone else (not an inmate but someone processing her?), might've stumbled upon it in a phone book, saw an ad while looking up information ... who knows! That girl has spun such a web of lies that you don't know when she *is* telling the truth!

Floridians -- does Baez do any of those DUI commercials on TV? Maybe that's where she got it from? Or, maybe she saw him or heard his name from another case that was going on at the time? You know on the news how they will interview an attorney on a case? Maybe she saw him being interviewed and the name stuck with her? It's anyone's guess.

I do not remember ever seeing a commercial or billboard for Baez, although I don't pay attention to lawyer ads either. The only lawyer that sticks out in my mind from ads is "Morgan and Morgan - for the people."

I cannot find an article in the DP decision anywhere. Do you have a link?

Nope, sorry. I haven't searched. I am watching my local Fox station. Judge Alex is the one reporting this. The judge in Miami is Rodriguez. Judge Alex is reading through the report which is pretty thick so he keeps adding little details during the sidebars. He is now saying the FL Supreme Court can overrule it and it shouldn't have much bearing on this case because these things take forever. However, he said the report could influence Judge Perry and make him pull the DP off the table.

Again, none of them feel the DP was even an option in this case and neither do I. However, if this would have been presented BEFORE the trial started, it would have changed things. The jury selection wouldn't have been so tedious and selective and they are questioning if the jury would have been sequestered if the DP wasn't an option.

Again, I am only reporting what they are saying. I haven't looked any of this up.

Did you see the press conference that they had for Vasco? His lawyer is one of the sons. I knew I had seen him before. They aired one of the Morgan and Morgan commercials right after the press conference and there he was. He looks like he is 12.

"I feel she is close to home."

That was truthful. Would have been more honest if she just drew a map.
Well, there ya go...caught in a truth. I bet it would be "fun" to pick apart everything she's said on record (tapes, interviews) and find "truth lies" that we'd better understand now, in light of everything else we know.
Am I missing something here. What freakin kind of cleaning product has testosterone in it?

(Won't say where my mind was going when he described white murky liquid containing testosterone. LOL)

In the state of FL, the death penalty is a majority vote. You need 7 or more jurors to vote in favor of the death penalty instead of a unanimous decision. That is one of the reasons why this judge is declaring it unconstitutional. Most states that have the death penalty at least use a unanimous voting system.
That's what I was thinking about this case. I'd worry about jurors like Juror #4 who would be afraid to convict because they'd only need 7 to get the death penalty.

I also remember the JD/MD guy. He is a doctor AND a lawyer. Though I am unsure of what he is up to now. I read he got arrested for something. But then again so did John Morgan (ZG's attorney).

Will update first post with important links as we go along.

No DP on this case would have really speeded up the jury selection process (plus, we wouldn't have been subjected to whatsername hacking up furballs), but I think this jury had to be sequestered. There's just too much being publicly played out...the crazy crowds outside, the talking about Baez's incompetence, George's alleged affair, all the other bizarre stuff.

He looked like a little Trump!

Good to see you here Pumba! And you're welcome! We've got some great analysts and detectives here. :thumbsup2
Bumping this up because the Gatorade bottle received some attention this morning.
In another window to read during sidebars. :thumbsup2

Hair on clothes. Whatthefollicleever! If I were on the jury, I would be inclined to recommend the DP for JB about now.

An article in the Orlando Sentinal talking about how executions are so slow that getting the death penalty = life in prison.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...eath-penalty-062111-20110620,0,7797385.column

The inmate we visit who is on death row has been there for 23 years. 12.68 years is the average length of stay on death row before execution in Florida. There are currently 399 inmates on death row, including 3 women. Inmates are not necessarily executed in order of "who was there first." If given the death penalty, it is possible that ICA could be executed before the inmate who has been there 23 years.

Executions each year since the
reinstatement of the death penalty in 1976

I find that interesting, as the consensus at one time was that FL and TX were considered to be quick in pulling the lever when compared to other states.
