Okay, I was talking to my mom and I had an epiphany.

Jose Baez is a genius!

He's working hard towards a mistrial. And when he gets it, he figures the state will not want to try this again because of money/publicity/etc - so at that point there will be a plea deal that is a lot less than life in prison.

But I think Judge Perry is on to him.

I feel like I'm going to go through withdrawal after this is over, but I'm sure not going to miss Baez, Cheney and Simms. Altho, I'm sure this won't be the end of this, and them. We'll see Baez all over the place if she's convicted, speaking about the outrage...bashing the prosecutors, the prosecutors' expert witnesses, everyone...except their guilty client and themselves.

Ok.....stupid question/comment:

I was just watching snipets of JB opening statement, and something hit me...does anyone think that JB practiced this opening in front of CM and other attorney's? If he did why in the heck didn't CM say...."Ummm maybe we don't want to get so detailed. I don't think we can cash this check!?" Or did CM think you know what we are probably going to get a mistrial, so no worries.

That opening seems so Law schoolish(if thats a word). I know that I am not an attorney, but from everything I have seen him do, say, or ask is clearly not up to par. I still can't get over the fact that CA has kept him as lead attorney. JMHO!

I've never been able to figure this out. CM is supposed to be this high profile, great attorney. I assume he knew what Baez was going to say in his opening. Even if both of them honestly believe that Casey was sexually abused, they both have to know that it will be almost impossible to prove. Why not just go with the drowning theory and deal with the abuse against her father at another time? I can't believe CM was part of this but I can't believe Baez would make those remarks without consulting CM. Forget the Casey Cam. We need a Cheney Mason Cam! I wonder if he is curled in a corner every time Baez speaks?

I didn't think I had ever had a depression problem, but sure did after the OJ trial... If this goes to Not guilty, well, I will probably need a LOT of help....
Baez should be disbarred. he is an idiot.

Experts on WkmG (Mark Nejame and some lawyer I do not know) shared expert opinion that today's admonishment was mainly directed at Jose and that both were included to maintain fair was in the trial.

They also graded them:

Jose: F for today, D overall (cant recall of a - or +)
Ashton: B+ for today (was still mildly admonished), A- overall.

BREAKING NEWS...the defense still wants to depose Vasco Thompson, on Wednesday after 5 PM. His attorney had filed a motion to quash since they have nothing to do with the case, but then got a call from Cheney Mason's office saying they want his deposition. The phone company gave Vasco a verbal confirmation saying when he had the phone, but won't give him written confirmation; the court can subpoena the phone company records.

His attorney had filed a motion to quash since they have nothing to do with the case, but then got a call from Cheney Mason's office saying they want his deposition. The phone company gave Vasco a verbal confirmation saying when he had the phone, but won't give him written confirmation; the court can subpoena the phone company records.

Assuming Vasco and his lawyer are telling the truth, Baez and CM are really going to look like fools if they put this guy on the stand. Oops.......sorry, I meant BIGGER fools.

If they are telling the truth, I would imagine it won't get past the deposition. But I think I'm losing my ability to think logically at this point. LOL
