Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

So, the skull decomposed on the side (per Spitz), and to get the duct tape on the skull, the skull would have had to have been moved to get the duct tape around each side, but moving the skull would have separated the mandible from the skull, so the person would have had to replace it in an anatomically correct position.

So far, Ashton is winning this one, IMHO.

I agree!
If the duct tape was placed after decomp... the duct tape probably should have left SOME residue? He says no.

The trial I was on was just a civil suit for money but the defense had someone that was their witness who was old and supposedly knowledgeable but his whole cross examination was like this one. I guess we on the jury were making faces or something because after the trial was over both lawyers came in to talk to us.

The defense attorney wanted out opinion on his witness..so we told him. His comment was "well, I guess we don't use him anymore..your faces while he was talking were priceless..you all looked like you felt sorry for him".

The prosecution wanted to know if we would have awarded money and asked each one of us. We all said yes but not what he was asking for.

Maybe that is why they settled while we were on lunch break. LOL

i didn't think lawyers were allowed to address the jury in that way until after the trial is over.

Good point.

A side note: DW is conducting her own experiment on the effects of water on duct tape glue (unfortunately, not Henkel duct tape). She's taped up a leak on our garden hose, so we'll let you know how it goes.
Everyone check back in 6 months!

Spitz is sounding VERY coached to the defense's case.

NOW HE's SAYING someone put hair on the skull for the purpose of posing a picutre?????

A forensic examiner is stating that they staged it. He has no credibility in my eyes.

Oh boy, Spitz is entering dangerous territory with his testimony about the ME and staff staging evidence.

Yes, from the bottom. No need to cut off the top, when the bottom was open. That there were black speckles or something from decomposition settled on one part of the inside of the skull which he says proves that the head was lying on its side. But, it was found upright, so the defense is claiming that the body had been moved. Which...of course it has! Floodings, animals...all the bones "moved".

Spitz is having a hard time remembering what he gave in an INTERVIEW...he meant to watch the interview, but he fell asleep. Doesn't recall being on the Today Show or 48 Hours.

If water can move cars, houses and buildings (Katrina, japan, nashville floods)--then, in comparison--flood waters could move a skull.

Glad the Casey's life is of little importance that he took a nap instead of refreshing his memory.

This question already asked and there is nothing different. This man is making me mad.

OMG!! He is suggesting the medical examiner's office Messed with the skull and hair before they took their pictures??? I would think that he just lo just lost all respect from everyone. HOly Crap!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

i can't believe ashton left it at that.

the photo was staged, the me or whoever took the pic faked evidence but ashton didn't take it further????

this guy is making up stuff i would have expected ashton not to let it go so quickly

Spitz says someone placed the hair on the skull when the photo was taken. Saying evidence was tampered with and hair was moved for photography purposes.

I wonder if they'll bring in the crime scene photographer to ask if evidence was tampered with? And, there are several people on the scene ... wouldn't someone have observed this going on?

OK - with the definition of manipulation that Spitz just gave, he's now reminding me of the father from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". "The word manipulate comes from the greek word mani which means hand ..."

A Dr. Drew commercial made me think of this...

has anyone explained to Baez and Co. that their job is to create reasonable doubt of the prosecution's case, not their own???

I agree and that should of been thrown out. That is speculation.

oh my god - now there's going to be a trial on who moved the skull and took the picture

Oh, it was over. We went to lunch, after lunch we were supposed to hear closing arguments and then go to deliberate. While we were on lunch they settled. I should have clarified that...I think the defense attorney pushed the settlement because he saw out faces. None of us realized we were making faces..but I guess emotions show.

A "little hole"?
