There's a little hole, right there in the bottom.

Smiling Moment.... Don't you just look in the little hole right in the bottom. I don't understand whay you are talking about. Talk about a difficult witness.

And I'm guessing (guessing) heat. She would have decomposed quickly in the Florida heat, and everything was exposed to heat and water for months.

The house analogy isn't working for me.

I would agree with that because bodies frozen in extreme cold (think of people lost on Mt. Everest who are found later) are well preserved due to the cold, so the opposite would have to be true with heat, right?

Think of meat left out in the sun as opposed to meat left in the freezer ... yet another analogy that proves true.

ok - i do have to agree that dr G not opening the skull is strange.
Per Ashton, there's a hole in the skull to see inside...I'm thinking without the mandible. There was no brain blocking the view of anything.

Show me the protocol on opening the skull in a skeletal autopsy.

Premeditation is NOt required and does not have to be shown or proven.

to get murder 1 and death it does.

or else it could have been spir of the moment anger, accident, or anything else. if you want a conviction of murder 1 and ask for death over live you have to prove she planned it and carried it out

Is it just me or can anyone understand what Mason said? Maybe I need a hearing test.

Good point---and with a light and maybe even a mirror, perhaps the cutting it was unnecessary.

I would be curious what protocol dictates.

I'd also like to know if this guy is jealous of Dr G and her success.

Premeditation does not have to be over a specific period of time, is my understanding. Taking actions where you have time to stop, and don't, is premeditation. For example, applying THREE pieces of tape over the mouth/nose...someone has time between each application to change his/her mind.

interesting that ashton is using a document written by lawyers and asking for medical opinion.

wouldn't have be able to get hold of an actual medical document or protocol?

I thought the FBI DNA expert covered that - that the degradation and absence of DNA was not unusual considering the circumstances.

Ok, that explains it for me. :thumbsup2

A "little hole"?

I think Dr. G dropped the ball on that one. There may not be a written protocol for it (I have no idea) but it seems common sense in an autopsy as part of the investigation of the head area.

Not a chance to research rigHt now--but that is what experts have said. Perhaps we are talking abOut capital murder versus felony murder? My understanding is that she can be convicted of murder--but L
Alas, I am now confused.

I jumped in the shower when Spitz was talking about his findings. What did he garner from cutting open the top of the skull? I know he disagrees with Dr. G when it comes to the top of the skull but what did his removing of the skull prove?

Dr Spitz is VERY caught up in the NATIONAL aspects of this case. ::yes::

Spitz is getting hot under the collar.

The high profile case coming into play could limit his credibility.......

really? so you don't have to plan it to be premeditated - just have enough time to stop and change your mind?

interesting

I just got home so forgive me if this has been discussed. Didn't this doctor work on the Phil Spector case? This doctor is coming off as an angry old man. I didn't see him when the defense questioned him, but he isn't doing well on cross examination.
