Okay is spit different than decomposition? I would be objectioning that as that has not been identified into evidence or mentioned. nor was it studied.
Ok my BIL dips--We had a bbq a few weeks ago and he used a Dr. Pepper can to spit into. That was left on my back porch

Well last weekend I finally picked it up. It was dried out. I was kinda expecting it to still be wet which is why I was in no hurry to pick it up.
I can say not once in the almost 2 weeks that it sat there did I see any flies around it. And never seen or saw when I picked it up any maggots.
My back porch has stuff on it--I keep cardboard egg boxes I get from the grocery store out there(I use them for recycling)--My mop and bucket--As well as our grill (which we don't clean off as soon as we're done cooking)
So by this witnesses testimony that dip can or even my grill should've attracted the flies and maggots and the maggots would've set up in either the boxes or my mop to procreate
