I can't believe how many people (not on this thread) are actually considering her defense! A woman called into a local radio show the other day, and she went on and on about how she had Casey guilty and fried, until she heard about the sexual abuse. Once she heard Casey had been sexually abused, all her actions made sense.
It makes me sick for all the sex abuse survivors out there. They grew up and some may have problems, but they do not become sociopaths. They do not kill their own children and I am willing to bet most of them do not bring their young daughters around the same man who sexually abused them.
How can George still be a witness for the defense? To be accused of sexually molesting his own daughter and dumping his granddaughter's body has to be too much.
Question for those who have watched from the beginning, has Baez explained why Casey and George felt the need to cover up an accidental death?
Sex abuse survivors do not cover up accidental drownings in the state of Florida. It just ain't going to happen.
Bottom line--abuse is never ever a defense for causing a death whether by accident or on purpose. A lifetime of lies to cover of a COMMON Cause of death in Florida of young, small children just isn't even logical.
The only thing Baez did was reenact HEARSAY

He yells the statement (paraphrased): Look at what you have done, your mother will never forgive you, you will go to jail the rest of your life for child neglect, etc etc. Very powerful, but NOT evidence. Jury will wait for the back up--but that back up is not coming. He can put his client on the stand all she wants with her claims. But she will not survive cross examination and I do not believe she is protected by the 5th amendment. She cannot refuse to answer a cross examination of her counter claim.
My theory on the doubling up of witnesses for each side--they are there to provide testimony that supports whatever theory either side has.
Prosecution has called Cindy and George as duped victims. Someone their daughter lied to. Someone who was concerned for where Caylee was, but was lied to...
Defense will call Cindy and George to refute their claims of concern likely with claims of her wonderful parenting, and digging up any abuse--anything that wrecks their credibility.
Then there is the big elephant in the room--IF she claims her father did all these things, IF George is lying about it, IF Lee did these things, IF Lee lied about it--WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY did she leave Caylee alone, voluntarily with either of these men?
I have had things happen to me as a kid--nothing to the magnitude of her accusations. One person wasn't even in that realm of bad things. But what I can tell you--is that these people are no longer in my life. Two, I it is highly unlikely I would ever see them again--the third, the few times where our paths almost crossed, my instinct wasn't to say "HI" or offer to let the person meet my kids, my MOTHERLY INSTINCT was to hide. It seems dumb. But I was at my mom's house and this person had stopped by. I hid in a bedroom with my child.
Now--the likelihood of that person EVER doing anything was slim to none and my response was on the irrational side of Fight or Flight, but I just had no interest in him meeting my children.
So I am to believe that what Jose offered up in Open is not only plausible, but completely true BUT that Casey was perfectly fine with leaving her daughter with either of them.

These abuse survivors need to wake up to that inconsistency. And if they have children and willingly leave them with their abusers unsupervised, they need to seriously rethink that.
I will give that maybe at some point in a fit of anger, perhaps George made similar statements as the one that Jose re-enacted at court. However, he was probably talking about Miss Thang and her partying ways or something else. No way did he cover up the death of his grandbaby and walk around for the past 3 years free as a bird.
