I voted yes, she will take the stand.

She is very narcissistic among being pathological liar and sociopath.

she will do her boo hoo tears, i wonder if they can do a close up and see if the tears are actual wet tears on the tissues.

I remember Susan Smith doing her pleas on tv. for people to find her 2 precious sons and I thought then she had something to do with it, never trust someone who is a dry crier.

You can't unring a bell. The jury has heard the allegations of sexual abuse. Even if the judge instructs them to ignore the allegations made during opening statements, I have no faith they will all be able to erase what they heard from their heads and truly deliberate as if they never heard it. It will be the elephant in the room and I am afraid at least one juror will be swayed by it.
Definately. Im just hoping they will realize, 1) she's a liar and 2) she's a liar!
I know I wouldn't be able to erase it from my mind but I would wonder why it isn't dealt with and the Judge has ruled that it can't be brought up until Casey proffers testimony. But you are right, all it takes is 1 juror....

And I think Baez fancies himself a Johnny Cochrane type...it would be Baez's big moment, have everyone watching and everyone talking.

.
I kinda think he thinks he's Tom Cruise in a Few Good Men...

:thumbsup2 I don't cry often but when I do, you better have a full box of tissue for me. I think she has used one tissue a day at best. How does one cry that much and not need tissue?

While yes, it's true you can't unring a bell, when taking the defense's opening statement and the subsequent testimony (til this point), the defense is going to have a long row to hoe to give any credence to their claims. Again, that is based on the testimony that has been given to this point. The defense has come across as less than stellar, in my opinion, to the point that he almost appears to be setting up an appeal due to inadequate counsel.

should look good for those who have HD tv's

my guess is she'll have a safety pin and jab herself to make herself cry

If memory serves, there was a point where George was not working. He started seeing a woman he met after Caylee disappeared. She was giving him money so that Cindy would think he was working.

I'm not impressed with George. It seems the apple doesn't fall that far from the tree.

Interesting. I haven't heard that before. Is it true?

:rotfl2: I think, well it's a safe bet that Casey has been doing the fake crying now for years, either she learned that behavior from someone or used it as a mechanism to learn to get her way and manipulate at a young age.

Another question for legal experts? Let's say Baez advises KC to NOT testify. Can she overrule his advice and insist on it? Would she have to fire him first?

JMHO, but I cannot see KC being encouraged by defense to testify after Saturday's meltdown.

CA's testimony, refusal to meet KC's eyes, hugging GA afterwards is probably the 1st time KC realized she is not #1. Hence the meltdown. (Yeah, wasn't seen by the jury, but bet she'd been coached not to show emotions for the cameras/media.) I think this has seriously undermined her confidence in her #1 savior - CA.

We're in the 1st week. A good percentage of testimony by her new-found friends was actually complimentary ("She was a good mom, she loved her child".)

How the heck will KC react when the testimony is NOT so complimentary and supportive?

JMHO, I welcome other thoughts.

Just because he is the lawyer doesn't mean she HAS to listen to his advise. So yes she can demand to take the stand even if he advises not to

Certainly not a legal expert, but...:)

Yes, she has the right to testify, against the advice of her attorneys.

Even tho the jury wasn't there when she had her meltdown, there's a whole lot of potential future jurors out there if she gets a new trial because of mistrial or appeal. She and her defense know that cameras are there catching it all. If she gets a chance to have that kind of emotional breakdown, because of the abuse she's allegedly suffered and her mother protecting George as she always did (that would be Casey's story), she can be that sympathetic figure. Baez is already offering up the very reason why she lied...what else could prosecutors hit her up with? (In the defense's minds.) They're admitting she lied; now they need to show the emotionally damaged Casey, the reason she lied.

I heard it on one of the news programs. I assume it is true or they would not have reported on it.
I heard that too about the affair; not sure about the money. But do you really think everything you hear on the news is true? At my daughter's wedding the other night, I met a woman and we got talking about a story in the news...I'm acquainted with the couple in the story (a legal case)...and she knew the story from the opposite side. (Let me just say...a VERY AWKWARD few minutes of conversation.) She didn't tell me the side of the story that SHE knew (couldn't, ethically and professionally) but as she said, what was reported in the news was not all as it appeared. As a matter of fact, and what I told her, I did notice that key facts were left out of the traumatic TV news story, that were in the legal documents and written news reports. I'm just saying that just because it's in the news, it doesn't mean it's exactly true. I only bring this up because I think you may have said something about the prosecution case (IIRC...forgive me if I'm wrong) many pages back...that just because they're saying it, it doesn't make it true?

So, this is the jailhouse phone call that convinced me Casey was guilty. Now , I certainly don't think this sounds like a grief stricken, innocent girl. She's has just been arrested for the murder of her child and this is the call she places to her family...Nor does it sound like someone who has been made to cover up an accident. Notice, she doesn't want to talk to her dad either. She feels calling the family was a huge waste... Maybe others think otherwise, but not me.

and who's christina?

it's also interesting that no one wants to give her tony's phone number.

and if he was her boyfriend why doesn't she know his phone number
