Casey did return to the house :sad1: She was bailed out by a bounty hunter (Leonard Padilla) on August 21, 2008 and then rearrested on August 29, 2008 - who knows what evidence she could have removed or changed in that time :sad2:

Well if it was taken from her parents house after she was bailed out (2 months after Kaylee went "missing") then we are all giving her WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT.

Anyone else kinda wish they were resuming the trial in the morning? Since it's a holiday, we could all watch and chat about it. OK there you have it, I am officially announcing that I am obsessed with the trial and making sure Casey gets what she deserves. Damn you Nancy Grace!!

Yes, Cindy and George believed there was a Zani the Nanny. Cindy stated on the stand that they were still looking for Zani up until 6 weeks ago (which is also when the defense implied they were pointing the finger at George).

They thought Casey had a job and could pay for a nanny. And we really don't know what is meant by "nanny" (just a babysitter?) and how much she was allegedly being used (a day here and there?). I also think that Casey may have said that she and her friend (the guy who didn't actually HAVE a child) were sharing costs?

No, they never met Zani (of course). Cindy said on the stand that Casey was a grown woman, and that they wanted her to let them know when she was going to be out since she was living with them, but that she was a grown woman with a child and her own life. The fact that they never insisted that they meet Zani wasn't odd to me. Casey gave a good cover story (she was a friend of a friend), and again, Casey wasn't some 15 year old with a baby where parents would be more in charge of overseeing everything.

I'm also scratching my head over the "still looking for her up until 6 weeks ago" So what happened six weeks ago to make her realize that Zani was an imaginary person? Did they catch wind at that time that the defense decided to peg George as the reason behind this whole tragedy?

Side note: I heard on the news a few weeks ago that Cindy went to see Casey on mother's day and Casey refused the visit.

I remember in the very beginning when they were talking about Zanny the nanny. Did Cindy and George believe that there was actually a nanny? How could Casey possibly have had enough money to pay for a nanny. I also thought that I had heard that Cindy and George had never met the so-called nanny???:confused3

I always just figured that Zanny the nanny was just something that Casey made-up, amongst all of her other lies.

I've been reading court transcripts all weekend & finished one of Cindy's today.

Cindy never met, spoke with, or even had a telephone number or address for Zanny. When questioned, Cindy claims she "trusted Casey's judgement". What REALLY floored me was Cindy stating that she was fully aware Casey had given Zanny a key to their house in case she ever needed anything for Caylee. :scared1::scared1:

Oh, and Cindy wasn't sure if Casey even paid Zanny, after all they were "friends". Well, you wouldn't refer to your friend as "the nanny" would you?

BTW, in the early years of Caylee's life, it appears she was cared for by a real friend on a sporadic basis (Lauren Gibbs, I believe) when Casey, Cindy, and George were not available. (Evidently George was out of work a lot. ) Lauren didn't charge Casey until she found that Casey was out having fun instead of working, so she pulled the plug on that deal.

After some of the things I've read, I think the only sane people in that family are Cindy's brother & mother.

Oh, and the sexual abuse? Casey had told Robyn Adams (an inmate she met in jail) about abuse by her father & brother. Legal experts, can they call her to the stand, or would that be considered hearsay?

I know what you mean...I got hooked on this case when I was in the hospital having my son - July of 2008....Caylee was just missing at the time and I was shocked by the behavior of this girl and how she didn't seem to show any emotion. The stories of the car and the dead body smell...it was horrifying and shocking. I hoped and prayed they would find Caylee and like many others, cried at the pictures posted on Nancy Grace. Even today, those pictures of her break my heart...she almost looks frightened on many of them... maybe it's just my view of it...my son is almost 3 now and he smiles like crazy everytime a camera is around.

As far as Casey telling an inmate about being abused by her father and brother, for all we know Jose Bozo may have told her to make-up and have those conversations...setting it up for the trial. Doesn't necessarily mean it's true, especially considering that Casey lied so much. What's really pathetic is that I think Casey actually starts to believe her lies after awhile. It must be hard for her to keep her stories straight, not really being able to tell the difference between what's a lie and what's the truth. I think they all blend together for her. Her defense team will never let her testify.

Why do you think I'm reading all these interview transcripts? ;) Need my fix! DH said he created a monster when he encouraged me to watch opening arguments.

I hadn't followed this case from the start, so I'm learning all sorts of new things about that family... :sad2:

Yes, Casey wouldn't see Cindy. I suspect that Cindy wanted to see Casey because of the alleged allegations coming out, and that's also why Casey wouldn't see her. :confused3

I'm not sure...did the defense put out there 6 weeks ago that their defense was an accidental drowning? At some point, the defense admitted there was no nanny. Not sure of that timing. I think as long as Casey was saying there was a nanny, they were going to go with that.

NO! I need to catch up on things at home! It's like a race to finish before Tuesday.

Casey told Robyn in letters, I think. And aren't those the letters where she sounds like she's really not sure what happened? Anyway, I don't think they hold any water. I wouldn't be surprised if she was trying to put it out there as the beginning of her defense...getting it down in writing. JMHO

Oh, I totally agree. I just wonder if he would be able to call her as a witness to get the abuse issue back in the courtroom.

I really wish I put in a request to take off on Tuesday so I could hang at home and watch Cindy resume her time on the stand. I'll have to warm up the DVR...much to my husband's dismay.

The initial search for zanny the nanny was unreal. I remember when Casey took them to the apartment that was supposedly the nanny's. And IIRC there was no one living there and no furniture or anything in the apartment. And I think the apartment leasing department said that no one had lived in the apartment for a couple of months or so.

I think the first apartment complex that Casey took the cops to was actually a senior citizen's home or something like that.

I remember when she took the cops on a wild goose chase saying that she worked for Universal, and they asked her to take them to her office, and then she FINALLY admitted that she had no office and she did not work there.

That girl can lie like nobody's business.

And geez, no one I've never met is going to have a key to my house!!!!

I've met kids who don't smile in pictures but are happy friendly kids. I was just talking about that recently to someone, and can't remember who I was talking about. :confused3 But there are lots of videos of Casey and Caylee having fun. Still, I think Casey was like a kid with a toy. And I said before, somewhere in these 130+ pages  that she reminded me of my ex-sister-in-law, putting on a loud show of her being "fun" with her kids, two of whom don't speak to her anymore, because she really WASN'T such a great and loving mother. But there would probably be the same type of videos of her with her kids. I think Casey was putting on a show sometimes with Caylee.

We already talked about how Jose could not make up the defense and set her up to possibly incriminate herself but he certainly could influence Casey's interpretation of things by the way he speaks to her. I think the general consensus here is that the rest of the defense team is not aware of anything but that Jose is sort of the behind the scenes mastermind of where her defense strategy came from.

Do we know why George can't seem to hold down a job?

Hhhmmm...you don't look so hot. How do you feel? ;) :lmao:

Casey told her in letters. I'm not so sure another inmate would make a good witness for the defense.

I wonder if I can change the first post to include a poll..."will Casey testify?"

She would definitely incriminate herself if she testified.

At this point in time, I'm not sure if she even knows exactly what's the truth and what are lies, because she's told sooooooo many lies.

To be honest I think Jose Baez is just about as low as Casey.

Yes, I remember all of that too. I don't know why anyone would believe anything that comes out of that girl's mouth. I wonder if Bozo knows the real story or is just as delusional and believes all of Casey's lies?

Also, it still makes me chuckle to this day: I remember early on when this whole thing happened, Cindy was being interviewed about whether or not she knew Casey was pregnant, etc... Cindy said at first there was no way she could even think that Casey might be pregnant because she was a virgin! And she would have told her mother if she weren't. Seeing those slutty pics of hers just baffles my mind that Cindy could think that way. :lmao:

I caught an interview with Geraldo tonight. He's been in the courtroom at least one of the days. When asked how he thought the trial and resulting verdict might go he replied, I'm paraphrasing, that he thought it would ultimately end up getting tossed because Casey was never properly Mirandized.

I hadn't heard that before. It would seem to me that it would have been argued already or else how could they even be in court? Unless, maybe it will come up later, again, as grounds for a new trial? :confused3

Anyhow, just wondering because I hadn't heard that mentioned before.

It was argued. I watched that hearing. They had the detective Yuri Melich testify as well as the other officers involved. The Judge said everything was correctly handled. no problems.

I'm also scratching my head over the "still looking for her up until 6 weeks ago" So what happened six weeks ago to make her realize that Zani was an imaginary person? Did they catch wind at that time that the defense decided to peg George as the reason behind this whole tragedy?

Yes 6 weeks ago, the Anthony's attorney was informed of the defense. At this point it seems the Anthony's realized that their daughter was turning on them and finally accepted that Zanny was all a lie. At least that is the story that they are uding.

Casey did refuse Cindy and then Casey breaks down complaining that her mother never even looked at her when she got off the stand.. ironic, huh?

I think Baez "led" her to this defense. Asking just the right questions, or picking up on some little thing Casey said, and ran with it.

Oh yeah, that Casey...such a good girl. :littleangel: NOT!
