I was just adding info about how Casey found Baez as an aside.



From what I'm hearingmf rom attorneys, this ZG won't have a case because Casey was not speaking of an actual person.. Apparently Zenaida(SP?) Gonzales is a fairly common name in the south Florida area. It would be like someone saying Joe Boudreaux took my child in my area. There are many of them and it would not be specific against 1 person.

This was Central Florida--I seem to recall a Central Florida news station look into it and there was not an abundance of ZG's in the Orlando area at that time. (For some reason 6 is the number that comes up in my head). That coupled with Casey showing up at Sawgrass shortly after ZG and it being a civil case...I think she has a shot.

Yes -- GA said she was wearing a pink shirt, a jean skirt, white tennis shoes and hair in a pony tail when he saw her last. Casey gave a very similar description saying she wore a pink shirt and jean shorts.

Skirt ... shorts ... either way, both were jean fabric and NOT what Caylee was wearing when her skeletal remains were found. She was wearing pink and white striped shorts as shown in an earlier video of Casey playing with Caylee. She was wearing a top with words on it. Granted, that was pink ... but the shorts part was totally wrong on both of their behalves.

And remember Cindy said that the top that was found was not one that was in her house and she had never seen it before. However, there was a photo of Caylee in the same shirt with Casey.

Did anyone listen to Tony Lazarro's testimony. Very interesting. He said that Casey ran out of gas once (I don't have the date) and said that when he picked her up she was standing beside the car. Wouldn't you wait inside the car? She claimed that she ran out of gas. There was another time when he called her about car troubles, and he picked her up once again. He asked her if he wanted him to look under the hood to see if he knew what the problem was, she said NO my dad will help fix the problem. Well evidentally, dad never saw the car until it was TOWED and George had to pick up the car. This was the point he smell the decomposition smell.

I don't know. Casey was lying thru her teeth but she was very specific about the kidnapper being Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez. And while it may be a common name searches only turned up one person having it in that combination in Florida. This Zenaida unfortunately.

And because of that this Zenaida was harrassed and stalked and her and her family's life was threatened. All because of Caseys lies.

I guess it's a wait and see. We've learned with this case that you never know with a jury. If it's up to the defense, Casey might choose to hvae a judge decide the case rather than a jury. I'm not sure what the law is regarding Trier of fact in Florida.

I don't remember what the number was either. But I do remember that the statewide search turned up Zenaida Gonzalez's and Zenaida Fernandez's but only 1 Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez.

They even searched North Carolina and New York--none there either

Good grief. These jurors need to keep their mouths shut if they really are concerned about people thinking they are incompetent. Everytime they speak, they just reenforce their ignorance.

She was speaking of her as an actual person when she lied to police.

This woman wouldn't have lost her job, wouldn't have trouble finding a new job, wouldn't have received death threats, etc. had Casey not used her name, correct?

In books and movies, when names or incidents are used, there's always a line somewhere that states that it is a work of fiction and all characters, names, and events are the products of the author's imagination or are use fictiously or are coincidental.

Casey never gave that stipulation to police, did she?

After hearing what Alternate Jurors #1 & #2 and Juror #3 had to say, I think that statement suits well.

I have to wonder if that's why the rest of the jurors are keeping mum ... these three have done enough damage for the rest of them.

I remember a case a few years back where someone killed their grandma because they wanted the inheritence. I think they strangled grandma but, after that, they threw the body down the stairs to make it look like a fall.

So, yeah ... people cover up murders by making it look like an accident and not the other way around.

A trial I covered years ago was the Michael Peterson case. He claimed his wife fell down the stairs, but her injuries indicted blunt force trama. The prosecution told the jury that he probably used a fireplace poker to beat her to death. Though the poker was never found.

Luckily, a very smart jury in NC was able to convict him on mostly circumstantial evidence. During the trial it was discovered that he might have been connected to another incident that involved a woman he might have been having an affair with in Germany. She died from a fall down the stairs.

German officials called it an accident.

Another example of where MURDERS are staged to look like accidents.

Since then I have seen it a couple more times in the past three years, but it's not exactly "common." Gonzales is a common Hispanic last name, but Zenaida is not one you hear every day.

I looked on babynamewizard.com, and Zenaida has not been in the top 1000 names in any state for at least 11 years.

I entered Zenaida Gonzalez into howmanyofme.com, and it came up with 9,351 people named Zenaida in the US, over 690,000 people named Gonzalez in the US (making it the 23rd most popular last name), and 21 people named Zenaida Gonzalez in the US.

At that time...for central Florida..it was a rare name. These women crossing paths...

I have a common first name, but an uncommon last name. While there are duplicates of my name...it is rare and even more rare when you toss in not one, but two middle names. This would go for both my maiden name and married name.

So if someone fabricated a crime and Used my name to do it and it was proven that our paths crossed in close proximity of time...it would be very fair to come to the conclusion that they used my personal name for inspiration.

That is what I think happened to ZFG.

Oh completely agree! Those 3 names together isnt common. I was just talking about the name Zenaida. Now, I will say this, Ive never heard one called Zenny or Zanni LOL!

Wait a minute ... yes she WAS talking about an actual person! Casey lifted Zaneida's name from the Sawgrass Apartment application/card! She told police that Zanny lived in Sawgrass Apts. Hardly a coincidence seeing how she saw the name on the app/card and used it although Zaneida didn't live there.

So, yeah, she really was talking about a real person since she knew there was a real Zaneida Gonzales and chose to use her name. Sje didn't pull it from a hat.

She should've stuck with Maria Gonzales or something less unusual than Zaneida. And, she should've made up some other apartment complex and not one that tied her to the place she visited with Tony.

We are Hispanic as well (Mexican on my mom's side). In Central FL there are more Dominicans and South Americans, and in S FL there are more Cubans and Puerto Ricans. I don't know which culture has more Zenaida's, but still....21 in the entire US. I don't think Casey picked a name she thought was common enough to confuse people. I also don't think she picked a name she thought was uncommon enough that it would never be found (everyone knows Gonzalez is a common Hispanic name). She picked that name with a purpose.
