Can someone clarify for me please...
Could the jury have found her NOT GUILTY on first (or second) degree murder but GUILTY of a lesser charge like aggravated child abuse or manslaughter?![]()
Because she didn't drown. She was murdered Drowning was the fools ploy of the defenseBut the prosecutor did not present any evidence to prove that she drowned.
I don't really get why the need to be so rude?Everyone had to sit glued to their tvs to know that there was reasonable doubt? Really? The coroner could not determine a cause of death. CA's attorney brought this story of an accidental drowning. Those two items alone would give most people pause. Do I think the jury could have tried a bit harder to find something other than lying to go with? Uh yeah. We don't know if they did try though. I am going to hope that those 12 people really did try and just could not fit it into the requirements of the law. I am going to believe unless proven otherwise that those 12 people really wanted to convict her but couldn't based on what was presented to them.
Well in all honesty anything is possible. So no matter what the outcome you played it safe- it could have happenedThen I guess you will have to call me lazy and thoughtless too, because long ago I posted that I thought it was possible that there would be an acquittal due to lack of evidence.
Yes.Can someone clarify for me please...

Wow. I was away for the past almost 3 weeks (out of the country) and JUST saw this morning on the news in the airport terminal as I was heading home that Casey Anthony was acquitted. I'm stymied. Truly.
I would've found solace in the knowledge that CA's life as she knew it/wanted it is over. Who would hire her? Who would give her the time of day? Who would befriend her? I would've said nobody, but the bottom feeders of reality tv and tabloid exploitation will likely have her get her own tv show and book deal and she'll make millions.
I'm horrified.
Welcome back to the USA. Where child killers go free and get offered porn contracts, and jurors do interviews for money.
So, where did you go? Did you have fun?
Someone went to Italy - Jo, now is the time to fill us in on your trip as well.
Anyone going to be a grandma soon and want to share with us? Something like that sure would be neat!

I am SICK AND TIRED of reading that the prosecution didn't do their job. When the hell does Casey take any of the blame? This isn't TV, folks. The state doesn't have access to all the high tech gadgets you see on CSI. You want them to pull DNA out of their *** when there wasn't any thanks to Casey.
If Caylee really drowned accidentally, how about Casey picks up the phone and calls 9-11 like any normal mother would do so the prosecution wouldn't have to prove a thing. There wouldn't be a waste of tax payers money and the police wouldn't have to hunt down imaginary people. Why can't people blame Casey for not calling 9-11 for an accidental drowning?
The prosecution gets blamed because there wasn't enough evidence. Why isn't Casey getting blamed for the lack of evidence? Her attorney admits that things snowballed. Her attorney admits that Casey was present when Caylee died. Why did she stuff her baby in plastic bags and throw her out in the woods for animals to chew on, 100 degree temperatures to bake in, and hurricanes and flood waters that would wash away all the evidence? How is it the prosecutions fault? Where exactly did you want them to get the DNA evidence from? The car that Cindy detailed down to the floor boards? The cover up after cover up that lead to months upon months of searching for imaginary people? Why isn't Casey to blame for any of this?
Casey has never had to take personal responsibility for a single action in her 25 years of life and, once again, she won't have to take any responsibility for the death of her child.![]()
I was in Greece. The only thing on tv there was the riots and protests.
Its about the preponderance of the evidence, circumstantial and otherwise.
The troubled mother was seen smiling for the first time in months shortly after the verdict, even as court officers took her fingerprints and began processing her for the penalty phase of the trial.
Although the prosecution attempted to cover all bases during the case, especially by throwing suspicion on Anthony's father, George, a former detective, they were never able to prove that Caylee's death was murder.
The prevailing theory now is that Caylee accidentally drowned in the swimming pool and the family immediately engaged in an elaborate cover-up that included fictional trips to Disneyland, an imaginary nanny and an entire social network of friends and caregivers that simply didn't exist.
It's all relative, isn't it!Okay, so maybe it's good to be back then!![]()
This case is like a child murder manual.
A "distant relative" of Cindy's in Texas has offered to take Casey in. No news on whether she'll accept. I wonder if Cindy orchestrated that. I think Cindy wants back into Casey's life. And I don't think Casey will go home...ever. I did wonder if Casey would further rip her parents' hearts out by demanding Caylee's possessions. Not so sure she'd keep them, but she'd take them away from Caylee's grandparents, just like she took Caylee away.
Also, there's a lien against her from the IRS for the $70,000 she owes. She MAY have to pay back some of the money for her defense and possibly the prosecution. Tim Miller is looking into options for getting back the $112,000 Equusearch spent looking for a missing Caylee when Caylee was NEVER MISSING per Baez's opening statement. And then there's Zenaida Gonzalez's suit against her. I hope some or all of that works against her...preferably ALL!
I didn't say they did. They're DUMB because they bought a "fabricated" defense story and labeled it as reasonable doubt, a story that makes no sense if you pay attention to the facts.
They were too dumb to actually think logically. Because there wasn't a smoking gun, an eyewitness, or DNA all over the place, they couldn't convict.
And now the DUMB slime balls are out trying to profit from their own stupidity.
Disgusting that our legal system has turned into this mockery of justice.
Exactly. She is not normal. She is not going to do what most people would do. I found that whole family to be screwed up. Wish they would all go away, but that's not likely.

I think Casey will continue to "work" her parents as she has done for the past 25 years ... and her parents, especially Cindy, will continue to fall for Casey's manipulations & lies ... I'm sorry, but the more I read, hear and learn about things, the more upset & disgusted I get with the whole family ...
I was listening to Tim Miller from Texas EquuSearch on HLN today and the way the Anthony family treated & spoke to him and led him & his team on a wild goose chase looking for a "missing" Caylee (when, according to Baez's own opening statement, Casey & George knew that Caylee was never actually "missing" because she had drowned) was deplorable ... he is now looking into suing Casey for the $100K+ he spent during this time - and I personally hope he has the grounds to do so and ultimately wins ... and what about all of the other volunteers & law enforcement officers that the Anthony's deceived in one way or another? ... what a total shame...

Just heard it ... and according to her the jurors were "sick to their stomachs" with their verdict ...
This article is so poorly written it's funny - http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979567265

I am sad that Caylee is gone, and believe she drowned. I think it was so important to Casey not to be seen as a bad Mother who let her child drown that she did dress it up as a murder, so she wouldn't be responsible at all. As improbable as that seems, it is the most likely story the evidence showed.
Yeah, sure. I love what Casey Jordan had to say about it. And I definitely remember that juror...VERY eager to be on the jury.Just heard it ... and according to her the jurors were "sick to their stomachs" with their verdict ...
