Cartier only provides booster seat in town car?

I booked our reservation with Cartier and requested a booster seat and car seat (4yo and 1yo). They replied that they only can do a booster seat, and if I wanted a car seat I'd have to upgrade to a van (which has 1 of each) for $90 RT.

So I emailed back saying I really had to have the car seat, and my son would be fine without the booster seat. Their reply- Towncars are only provided with booster seats but a van has a car seat for only $90 RT.

I emailed the other town car companies about this question of car seats (not booster) in a town car, and I'm waiting to hear back. I wondered if anyone has had this concern with a town car rental?

I understand that there may be some issue with wrecking the interior to secure a car seat, but it wouldn't be too hard to put down a towel or something to prevent that. But I think what bothers me the most is they didn't say that was the reason, and they came across that they are trying to sell me a more expensive car/van.

Has anyone had a car seat in a town car?

We had a car seat in the van. My thought is maybe its a space problem. It would get very tight in the backseat with a booster and a car seat plus one adult!

We also booked Cartier and were also told it was a space problem. I need two booster seats but just for this once I will let my 6-turning-7 dd ride on a folded beach towel so the shoulder belt won't come across her neck. I can see how an adult and two booster seats (or a booster and a car seat + an adult) wouldn't fit in a town car.

However, it does seem that if you wanted ONLY the car seat, that it should fit

I'll be interested to see what you hear from the other towncar companies...

FL TOURS provides car seats or car seat booster combo so long as the total number of people do not exceed 4 in a town car. When we’ve 2 adult and 2 children and if both children require car seat or boosters; we keep one adult in the middle seat of the back seat another up front with driver. These car seats are provided by FL TOURS at no extra charge.
