Carthay Circle question

Has anyone had any experience with Carthay and dietary requests? We emailed Disney dining on the fourth of June with a question about getting a steak for my son at lunch and if we could get an adult portion of the kid's steak and it was forwarded to the Carthay chef, and they never got back to me. I emailed twice to remind them and they said they've reminded the chef at Carthay and left her a voice mail. Is this normal? I just need a yes or a no...:confused3

I haven't contacted them ahead of time, but we have dined with dietary requests like vegan and vegetarian. We told our server when we were seated and were accommodated. I am sorry no one has gotten back to you yet. How frustrating!

Ya, it's a tad frustrating. Worst case scenario we order him the burger, box the burger and he can have fries for lunch and my husband can eat the burger in the room later....seems like a waste though.

Call the Dine Line with your question and specify that you have not yet received an answer to your email. Ask for a lead, if necessary. Someone should answer your question or get back to you.

I was thinking perhaps trying the Special Diets phone number? Has anyone called them recently and know the turnaround time? I have in my notes the Special Diets number is 714-781-3569. But I have not used it myself and don't know if that is accurate. But it may be worth a shot, OP!

They will typically sell a double portion of the kids meal to an adult for twice the price, without needing to make arrangements ahead of time.

From what I can tell they took all the steak off the lunch menu. That's where the question comes in.

If anyone is wondering my son has autism and has a really obnoxious problem with food aversions, he has a big problem with sauces. He's really worked hard to get to the point where he'll eat something like a steak so I'd really rather not have to have him go back to fries.

If steak is the issue, is it possible to eat lunch at Steakhouse 55 in the DLH? The service there is excellent, and we've had very good experiences with the staff working with our special food needs. Then, perhaps, you could do a dinner at CCR (there was/is a beef tenderloin on the dinner menu).

We want the world of color fast passes :) we want lunch because our other kid is a late napper and we don't want a pissed off kindergartener who was woken up to eat a long dinner the dragged to a show. Also everyone else (7 of us) prefer the lunch menu.

In that case, I would call the Dine Line and ask to be transferred to whomever can answer your questions. The Dine Line CM can put notes on your reservation so your requests will be there. For future reference, the WOC FPs from the GRR FP machines can be just as good as the Preferred Dining FPs -- in case something happens, and your lunch plans get changed at the last minute.
