Does anyone know why Carthay Circle Lounge appears to be closed after June 10?

They may be converting to Carthay Restaurant about that time. The lounge will return to walk up.

Ah, thank you Malcon10t, that explains it! I've been trying to book a dinner for the last week of June and have been scratching my head over why nothing was available at Carthay.

I would be very happy if it was going back to being the regular lounge around then. I go June 16th and would love to have the regular lounge (and it's menu) back.

I’ve been trying to book reservations for the 2nd half of June as well - If you go into the Cathay Circle specific webpage and try to book a reservation for it there, it won’t let you pick any times. So as others have said it does appear to be no longer taking reservations. Lamplight Lounge is the only restaurant at CA that appears to be taking them. It is slim pickings for sit down full service meals with reservations at both parks right now.

Is Carthay Circle Lounge walk-up again (like it was pre-COVID) and does it have its own lounge menu? Or does it require reservations?

There are two Carthay options right now: the Carthay Circle Lounge Alfresco Dining, which is downstairs/outside and Carthay Circle, which is the regular restaurant. Both require reservations but both will offer walk-up wait list if there is availability. The menu is completely different for each location.

Honestly I preferred the Alfresco on this trip. Both menus were a little limited for a vegetarian but they have a pasta dish and they can remove the shrimp from the spring rolls which will make them vegetarian. Their drinks are just as amazing (same being menu maybe?) and I love the outdoor location. I felt safer and had wonderful weather that just made it seriously enjoyable.

ALSO, on their dessert menu they have a cheese board which with just cheese, crackers, dried fruits, and some fruit spread, no meat though, rare and really enjoyable for a vegetarian. (I didn’t inquire if the cheese had animal rennet or not so inquire before your visit if that’s a concern.)

I ended up there three times this week for early lunches (right when they opened) and it was a wonderful time for a cocktail and cheese board or pasta dish. I hope that place remains there long term!
