Carsland questions

I am wanting to wait to plan a DL vacation for when Carsland will be open. All I can find is 2012...one post said possible summer of 2012. Does anyone know an approximate month of it opening? We do WDW every year but would like to try DL. Thanks!

Disney has not said. It is commonly believed that Disney will open this for summer 2012 though.

My best estimate is approximately June 2012. June falls in both Spring and Summer. It's also the start of the busy season when Disneyland gets the most business.

If you want to make a safe bet on when to visit in order to experience Carsland, then aim for fall of 2012.

My husband wants to do the Alaskan DCL cruise and I was saying that IF Carsland was open would should incorporate that into our trip. But with Fantasyland opening in late 2012 then I want to do that too...we pretty much would get a one shot deal at DL though. We are in La and Florida is just closer. Thanks everyone!

That being the case, possibly just aim for a summer month and not May and probably not June to raise the chance of Carsland being open. Large scale projects have a tendency to take longer than esimated, which is probably why there is not an official date on this.

In any case if you haven't been to DLR, having gone to WDW is not a reason to skip it if you are going to the West Coast. I'd plan 3-5 days in DLR no matter what.

We are going the end of september/beginning of october in 2012 just to be safe. I figure that way even if there are some issues they should all be worked out and carsland should be open when we get there.

Was amazed at what we could see when we were there. Its going to be big!
