:wave2:Hi all!
The lazy poster who reads almost all other threads has a question.

Last summer was a crazy, great time of lots of travel for my family. Since it also happened while pregnant with a Fall baby and a three year old, I decreed no travel this summer further than a two hour radius. Since the closest big city is two hours away, kind of a big deal but so far pretty fun! Missing Disney of course.

Getting closer to my questions: How crazy will the Parks be next summer with Carsland opening and is there a link somewhere to info about next summer? Traditionally we go in June as summer events kick off, but I think I saw somewhere not to even count on June opening.

Can anyone help me out with info?

Thanks alot!

Rumors, rumors, rumors...Cars Land is rumored to be opening mid to late June 2012. But there is a lot of new stuff Disney is trying to get ready for then. I would not plan a June trip for me. Just sayin'.

Will it be crazy? Well, if it is it will be in the context of a larger park with more people eaters - three new rides.

My guess is it will be crazy like this summer crazy and the last few. In other words, manageable. I thought the crowds last week were quite moderate for summer. I would recommend you plan your trip for July to have the best chance. :teacher:

There is no official date for Carsland to open. But it's coming next year and like you said things start up in June.

If you have to go during summer break I'd wait until later in summer. If you can go another time because you have young children I'd wait for the Fall.

I was sort of wondering the same thing..... we had planned to go next July, but I'm considering pushing to the second week in August. that is the latest we can go, as we'll be in California for 2 weeks, and our 2 school-aged kids can't miss that much school.

Just really really hoping it will truly be open by then!

We are planning last week of July/first week of August to go next summer, depending on when school starts.

If I was to make odds on when it will all open it would be about...
%5 during Spring break
25% for Memorial Day Weekend
25% during the first half of June
40% during the second half of June
5% After the 4th of July.

Most of us when we say Carsland are really waiting to ride Radiator Springs Racers, which lucky for us may look big but may be the simplest attraction to make. After all it is based on an existing ride system.

Of course it is a big place and could have staggered openings. And the 3 new attractions could open and then close with problems which is common for new things. It is quite probable we could go into Carsland to eat, shop and do 2 of the attractions before the 3rd is open. Then Disney holds a grand opening after all 3 are done. Sort of like how thousands of people rode Star Tours and Little Mermaid and saw Soundsational before the media day when they officially opened.

I would say odds Cars Land will be open by late June are 99.99%. Disney will go to three shifts if necessary because they need Cars Land for summer promotions and summer only happens once a year.

Other than RSR, what are the other attractions set to open in Carsland?

I know I've read that info before, but I cannot for the life of me remember where I read it or what else is going in Carsland. I tried doing searches for it, but without much luck.

Any new restaurants going in there?
Kids rides?

Also does anyone know off-hand what's going to replace the Maliboomer?

Thanks in advance! :)

Maliboomer is completely unknown and only unbased rumors.

We will get a few stores, a counter service and snack stands.

Floes and Fimore sold fuel and oil, food for cars, Sally's will have tables under the cones not beds. Then of course Sarge and Lizzy sold things.

Radiator Spring Racers will be the thrill ride.
Luigi and Guido Flying tires.
Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, whip ride.

I wouldn't say any of these will be kids rides of the like of Hiemlich's Chew Chew Train but more School age kids and up.

Thanks for the info.
I wish they'd just left Maliboomer. Or rather my teenage kids wish as there's not much in DCA for them.

I do recall the flying tire ride, but don't think I'd heard about the whip ride.

Anyway, thanks again.

Will do! Thanks! :thumbsup2

My family will be going to Disneyland the last week in July to early August of 2012 it will be my daughters 3rd birthday. I hope it will not be too crowded since SO Cal AP's should be blocked. We are so excited last time at Disneyland was 2009. I am still deciding 4 days of 5 days in the park?????

We are also going next summer, probably second or third week in July. Hopefully by then all of Carsland is open, and still working properly. lol

We'll have two adults and four kids, and I am thinking we'll do four days. I'm not sure either though. In fact, sometimes I wonder if I am insane for even considering going at that time!! :sad2:

If there is a good time to stretch a trip, that summer would be it.

I agree- more days is always the best choice if at all possible.
