We are planning to take a taxi from the airport to the WDW Dolphin. We will have a infant carrier carseat for our 11 mo, but our 3 year old at 30 pounds will not have one. I read that the taxi requires a carseat for children under 4. Do we need to make arrangements in advance for a carseat? How do we do this?

Also we will have 3 adults and the 2 kids, plus a double stroller and lots of luggage. I read that the taxis can hold between 4 and 8. Is it hard to come by one of the larger "taxis"?

I think you need to prebook something - you aren't going to stumble on a larger taxi complete with carseat waiting outside the airport.

there are numbers for taxi companys on this website

I think it's a MUST to pre-book a "mini-van" cab with a car seat and not just wait till you get there. We did that once, and it was a disaster. It took us forever to find something.

Also just for fun, given the size of your group, you may want to just check out the price for a town car service. We have found them to usually be around the same price as a taxi, and really nice. We have used Happy Limo. Service with great results. It doesn't hurt to just check the price! Good Luck!

A taxi, will not, and is not required to have a carseat for your child. Check out the transportation board here at the dis and look into a towncar. We took a taxi due to a last minute schedule change and it cost us 54.00 one way for 1a/2c. A towncar is 80 or 85 round trip and is wonderful. We have used yourride and tiffany and both gave great service. Tiffany had a booster seat for my 4yo, met us at the baggage carosel and took us for a 1/2 hour grocery stop on the way to the resort. We save a lot on cost of food as well as convenience with the towncar.

We booked with Tiffany Town Car Service at $95 for 5 people. I also have $5 coupon from the website, and it includes a grocery stop and car seats for free. Thanks for all the input. I also got some good info over at the Transportation Board.

I have a question... did you get this rate for a town car? and for round trip? I am asking because I thought we would need a limo for 5 instead of a town car. We have 2 adults, 2 kids (8) and on infant in a car seat. I would love to do it for $95 round trip!!!

Yes. It is a van. You can only have 4 people in a town car.
