Up untill three days ago we were going to WDW plans changed and we are now leaving for DLR on thursday. Boys were really looking foward to seeing Mcqueen and Mater but it seems they are only in MGM. :sad1:

They don't move anymore, but they are over across from Soarin' in DCA. There's a line to have pictures taken and everything. :) (I saw no photopass photographers there, but the CMs were happily taking pictures with personal cameras)

They were there yesterday, but I also saw no photopass photographers. They did have a cloth so your little ones could polish the cars. Made for cute pics.

Is it still a free for all?? Last year it was a all man for yourself deal with so many people pushing their kids up to see them.

In our experience, it wasn't a free for all at all. Since they are there all day every day, and since there is a line area, people just lined up and waited their turns. Even my son (who likes to pretend that he hasn't a clue as to what a line is, LOL) lined up nicely. :)

I will suggest to let the CMs take the pictures with your camera...I decided that I was too controlling to have that happen, and so my pictures are from further away, in the sun, and from a different angle, and they just aren't very good (and I'm a fairly decent photographer!). :confused3

That cloth idea sounds adorable!!! My guy tried to climb on Lightening, and they got all huffy about it...but I've since seen pictures of kids posing while sitting up on "him". Harumph.

It used to be a crowd, but since the cars moved it's a line. The line never looked very long and it seemed quite organized.

:faint: Chances are lightening and Mater will be the only characters that I get photos with while on my holiday... The other sort scare me... :faint:

glad to hear this:) its been alittle hectic switching gears from wdw to dlr. I am not as familiar with dlr and this is the 1st time with kiddos but we cant wait:banana:

We were there last month and I was relieved that they let you take your photo by yourself with Mater and McQueen. People tried to push their kid in there for a photo while I was taking my sons' photo but the CM told them to stand back and wait their turn. How refreshing!
Last year I had a heck of a time trying to crop all of the strangers out of my pictures.
