anyone who has returned recently did any of you notice how the progress on the cars ride and the crush coaster were going and do you have any idea when they might be open (soft test opening).
we are passing through Paris twice in May once early and once late and the early date is easier for us but our kids are such fans of both movies.
thanks, michelle

Hi Michelle and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

As opening is expected middle of June it will probably be April before the rumours start coming out when soft opening will happen. Regarding special events for shareholders and annual passport holders we often don't get much more than 1 months notice.
Hopefully you will strike lucky on your dates, otherwise always a reason to come back :goodvibes

Hello, just got back last night, it was all boarded up and i couldn't see anything i'm afraid. But they had pics of it on the boarding and Toontown looks like it'll be great.

Dont the cars look cute?

Thanks for sharing this info.
I hope to be there when they do the soft opening so much.

Thanks for the replies.
the cars are really cute in the photos.
i just hope we time it right!

Does anyone know the height requirement for the Cars Ride? DD loves Cars but am thinking she might be too young/small for this ride. Have looked at all the info on the DLRP site as well as a couple of others and can't seem to find anything about this.

Thanks!

Hmmmm. Has anyone brought back a park map from the Studios lately? I noticed that the cars ride was on it, and it probably advises if there is a height restriction, but I didn't bring one back.....Sorry!

I think it will be like the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups and not have a height restriction.

Theres no height restriction for this marked on the park map I got at Easter

Looking at the photos I doubt it will have a height restriction.
My understanding is it is a set track not bumper cars.

Got my park guide which I picked up 2 weeks ago here... states height restriction and usual warnings about medical fitnessfor Crush but nothing for Cars!

Hope this helps!

Just got back from DRP. Crush Coaster and Cars ride were by invitation only ready for the big launch on the 9th of June. Looked really good and the plot around Cars in particular is really great...

Can you tell me what height restriction was on Crush??

I have read in an Italian DLP Forum that is 1.20.
It was posted by a Shareholder that was at the preview with her kids and could not go on it because one of the boys was under the 1.20 limit.

After days of trawling the internet I have finally found the height restriction for Crush's Coaster!!

The minimum height is 1.07m and the ride is not recommended for children under 7 years old.

I personally think this is rather unfair. Finding Nemo is a young childrens movie and my son was desperately hoping to go on the ride. He is only 3 years old and around 1m.

I thought Disney was a theme park designed for children. It seems over the years the height restrictions are getting higher and higher and childrens prices are more expensive - yet they can go on less rides. I don't think there are any rides my son will be able to go on in the Studios Park (apart from the new cars ride) so I feel the entry fee for him should be free.

Crush is not a smooth ride, it's a spinning coaster and i can tell you that is the only one in all the Resort that took my breath away.
So in my opinion, 7 years old is a very little age for it, although I recognize some kids can be braver than me ;)
Last september when we were there on the dlrp televison (the one you get in the hotel rooms) they kept showing it as it was a *voyage* around Nemo. No!
It is something scary not suitable for a three years old.
I am with you when you say Nemo is a kid's movie and so it could had been better to made a ride just like Pinocchio or Peter Pan in the Park but here we are, it isn't.

Nemo is not for small children... It looks like an innocent ride, but it's not!!!!

I am with you this is not a ride for a three year old however tall they are.
I was poorly after I got off. It was fun but left me dissy.
