Is there an official opening date? or is it just Summer 2012?

Nothing yet. The optimists say it could be as soon as late May. If you wanted a sure safe bet I'd say late June or early July if you're planning a trip.

I think you are fairly safe early July (unless it rains for the next 3 months solid).

I would guess June, with soft-openings extended into May. I only say that because it looks to be about 80% complete, and that other 20% shouldn't take 6 months. Man, that place is going to be crowded.

We are scheduled to go from June 19th to the 22nd. I figured I'd stay away from DCA on the 19th b/c So Cal passes aren't blocked. We'll try Carsland one of the other days if it's open.

I have little doubt rain will even matter in CL. Most of the work to be done is indoors, very little left outside. I'm sure the super negative and pesimistic and problem causing Al Lutz will say rain is backing things up in his next ariticle or two and I will laugh at him.

On a super opptomist level I'd say Spring Break. On a standard opptomist leve soft opening in late April and May. Soft opening may be for only CMs, APHs or in some other limited manner.s

As long as the end of the world happens after Cars Land opens I om OK with it.

I feel the same way. We only go every couple years or so, and my son will love Cars Land. Hate to wait too long to plan our trip since we're out of state.

I spoke with the Walt Disney Travel Co yesterday and was told Carsland will be ready sometime in mid-June. I'm sure that was not official the CM I got was very talkative and helpful.
