Cars 2 Pre order at TRU ?

So far looking at the ads I see that Best Buy has the best price for Cars 2 5 disc set for 19.99 when using the 5 dollar disney coupon. I really hope that is not a typo error as Target and meijer both list that set for 29.99 Sale price and TRU is the highest at 34.99 according to the toybook.

So my question is since I preordered Cars 2 at TRU in order to get $10 off Lion King do I need to do anything if I buy it at Best Buy? I don't remember what the card said regarding picks up or no show pick ups.

I have never done the $5 preorder thing before so I am not sure how it works

I am hoping that TRUS will price match to Best Buy. If so, that's the best deal. Just bring in your BB ad.

Otherwise, I *think*, you can tell TRUS that you don't want to do the preorder and hand them back the card and I swear someone who did this on DIS for another movie said that TRUS gave them their money back from the preorder.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was really shocked when I saw that TRUS and Target's price was a lot more than Best Buy!

That's exactly what someone else posted last year...didn't make sense to me and I'm hoping someone else will come on here to confirm (or deny).

but the best deal will be to get TRUS to pricematch to Best Buy AND do the preorder...

I've gotten a refund on my preorder from TRU before. You just have to take your receipt to customer service and tell them you decided to purchase it whereever because it was less expensive there. I'll be doing that Tuesday. Usually TRU is pretty competitive, they may lower the price by Tuesday.

I got my money back from TRU's pre-order before and they did let me keep the discount. I got and email saying that the pre-order will be delayed so I will go get my money back unless they lower the price.

For LK, I got the "delayed" email too but they had it on Tuesday anyway. In fact my store didn't know anything about the delay. I wonder if they do that on Sunday so folks don't try to purchase then, since the movies aren't actually sold until Tuesday.

I got an email about it being delayed, so I'm guessing they have a record of it. I'm not sure. My TRUS told me I needed to have the receipt in order to get it and that's what it says on the red card, too. If I were you I may just bring a copy of the email and a copy of your credit card charge (if you paid that way) along, too. I guess it depends on how much they are being a stickler for the rules...

And we saw Cars 2 in the theater and my girls who didn't like Cars 1, loved the 2nd one.

Keep in mind that the DMR coupon is usually only good for the combo deal. Last movies the coupon is only valid for 5 combo pack.

but TRUS accepted the Disney coupon for just the BR + DVD!!

I don't want the 3-D version and don't need the digital copy but would like the BR for home and the DVD for when we travel.

Hoping TRUS will accept it again for Cars 2, too!

Just got back from shopping...TRUS will NOT pricematch to any other store. They will price match to their on-line stores though (ToysRus.com and babiesrus.com). So I returned my preorder and got my $5 back (they could only give to me as a gift card, but I was ok with that).

Oh and TRUS said they have a $15 Cars 2 clock that they are giving away...guess that's why they won't lower their price...

Best Buy has the 5 disc combo pack for $24.99 - $5 coupon= $19.99

They also have the blue Lightning McQueen RC car for $16.99. When you bought it with Cars 2 they took $7 off. I got the car and movie for $29.98. If you do the mail in rebates for $10 each it works out to $9.98 for the 5 disc and the RC car.

First -- Congratulations!!! I hope all is going well.

I think you have to return the preorder this week, b/c I think it was only good for one week. I don't have the paperwork any longer since I returned it.

And the manager said they normally just give you a refund but for some reason their computers were not accepting my return preorder unless I took a store credit/gift card. I figure I'll just buy one of my next movies from them anyway, so that didn't bother me.

Yeah, I have that poster too...I do want to frame it but haven't gotten to that yet.
