Will sit-down restaurants let you just walk in and order an item for carry-out without sitting down? If I wanted, say, a piece of cake from a certain location or a certain appetizer or some such to take out and eat while watching a parade or just sitting on a bench, will they do that without me going in as if I'm ordering a whole meal? I'd hate to take up my time and take a table from someone else for something that could be so quick......

Yes they will . I had a craving for a crab cake at Konas so I walked to the front desk and ordered it to go. No problem.

As crazy4disney said, yes, you can. We too often like to order sticky wings from the Kona Cafe and either take them to the tables at the pool area to eat or out on our balcony. The only stipulation we have been told there(and Im guessing most places) is you must be there in person to put in the order. You cant call it in.
I have also gotten a to go order from The Garden Grove at the Swan. They have a great toasted ravioli appetizer. ;)

Got the wonderful homemade potato chip appetizer at the Yacht Club Galley and took them back to the Swan. If you have never had these try them!! Thick cut chips sprinkled with Parm cheese and served with a jalapeno bacon dip.
