We are first timers getting ready to go. We have 5day park-hopper plus passes. How do we carry them? In a pocket? In a plastic case to hang around the neck? In a wallet? HELP!!

Last year, we found some zipper pouch/see through plastic id wallets on lanyards at Walmart. This worked out very well for us. Mickey

I also make a copy of our tickets if you can, just in case they get lost or stolen and leav them in the safe. I keep them in my fanny pack.

Fanny pack has always worked best for me, then it is right there easy to get and safe.

When we were on the Disney cruise last year, I bought us each one of the water proof "boxes" that you wear around your neck. You can put pass, $$, etc.. inside and they stay dry & safe. We discovered there are many uses for these - we used them when skiing, kayaking, anytime you don't want to be fishing around in a pocket.

However you carry them (all above fine) just remember how much they cost and treat as you would cash or cards! Although pestered by DS & DD (8 and 9 last trip) we don't let them carry their own cards.

I carry ours in my wallet. I remove all the stuff that I will not need at Disney to make room.

For some reason, I think mine was $3.94 or something like that. I know it was worth that and much more because it was very handy. Mickey

You may have gotten a different one or maybe the price went up. I did found the thread where we discussed the ID holder from Walmart. There are links to the picture of what they look like. The price was 97¢. I got 4 of them and they have held up well.

The thing in the picture is not what I have. Let me take another crack at describing it.

Think change purse. It has a zippered compartment that will hold money, room key, tickets, fast passes, and other ID cards. But, it also has a plastic pocket on one side that is see thru with a velcro closure where you could put other ID type cards and stuff. This whole thing also has a lanyard attachment and a keyring where you could place keys.

Does that give you a better idea of what I was trying to get at?

Mickeysaver, what you got sounds much nicer than the 97¢ Walmart special. Your description was very good. In fact, it sounds exactly like what we got at Universal Studios for around $6 last year. It was waterproof nylon material with a clear front for ID and a zipper compartment for change, another compartment for dollar bills with velcro and also a key ring on it. It sounds like you got a better deal than the ones we purchased from Universal.

We purchased the cheap Walmart ones mostly for the water parks. They have a plastic ziplock top and seem more waterproof than the Universal ones. So we have 2 kinds. I wish I could've found the ones like you got at Walmart for the price you paid becuase that sounds like a great deal.

The company I work for has large group meetings. Part of our check-in procedure is that we are issued a nametag that is slipped into a little black pouch with a clear plastic protector and is on a string. I used to throw these away, but a couple years ago realized these are great for the parks. I take the nametag out, insert our Pass in, and in the back there is a zippered compartment large enough to insert your room key and $$. Now at meetings, at the end, I ask my teammates to give me their nametag holder instead of throwing them away.

We asked this question when we were preparing for our trip this summer and got lots of great suggestions. Someone suggested the Passporter pass holder (www.passporter.com) and I ordered that. It was worth its weight in gold at the parks! It easily held our Hoppers, room key, ID, cash, Fastpasses, etc. I wore it around my neck our whole trip and really hated having to go back to carrying my big old purse when we got home.

Drawbacks--the thing didn't seem very waterproof; I think they
said it's water resistant but to cover it up if it's really
raining (and it's not good for waterparks; you need
a genuinely waterproof one for that). We were
caught in a rainstorm and didn't have trouble
with the contents getting damp, however.

---Also, it's not exactly a "cool" thing to wear IMO. It's
very brightly colored, with bright printing on the
front. I wore it backwards (with the printing to
the inside) because I felt like a walking
Passporter ad otherwise!

When you photo copy the card, I was told to be sure to photo copy the magnetic strip. I did not know one could read a photo copied magnetic strip, but I'd do it just to cover your bases. Also keep your recipt. I kept mine in one of those pouches that is designed to go under your shirt when traveling. Used it like a little purse. Did not need anymore as, I hung a diaper bag on my umbrella stroller.

Already posted but I wanted to add (since you're first timers, as we were on our recent trip)---beware of forgetting your Hoppers in the Fastpass machines! Whenever I was getting Fastpasses for all 3 of us at once it was SOOO easy to be fumbling with the Fastpasses and forget to get the last Hopper out of the machine before turning around and leaving!

Before the trip I get a new atm card sleeve from my credit union and put the park hoppers, hotel keys and a credit card in it and carry in my pocket. I make sure everything I bring to wear has pockets. I'm used to this because at home I carry my driver's license, credit card and atm card in one sleeve all the time. My x always worried that I would lose it but I've been doing it for years. Since there's more than one card it feels a little heavy and thick and is easy to keep track of.

Last year I bought my ph from Disney direct and they were hard plastic like credit cards. This year I was disappointed to find out that the php I bought through connections are just paper! I'll be a little concerned about pulling them out for FastPast all day long.

Hi

Does anyone know if Walmart sell waterproof pouches that will hold a small digital camera and a mobile (sorry!) cellphone? We've tried all the local luggage shops and outdoor/camping type shops over here (England). We need one for the waterparks to put in my bum bag (I think you call them fanny packs?)

Thanks

Walmart usually does not sell large wetpaks; they are a specialty item for the most part.

Have you tried a diving shop? They usually have them. A quick search I just did found several UK online dealers that have them, including Boots.co.uk. Just do a google.uk search on "waterproof waist pouch."

If that isn't what you wanted, I would suggest ordering one from www.campmor.com, and having it shipped to you in Florida care of your resort. Campmor tends to have the best prices on outdoor equipment of any US web-dealer. http://www.campmor.com/webapp/commerce/command/CategoryDisplay?cgrfnbr=1028&cgmenbr=226
