Carrying your id, etc... what do you use???

I used a thin drybox...it was rainy part of our cruise and it was nice not having to change id cases to go in the water, etc. I like your VB id case though.

I use a thin drybox, and wear it while snorkeling.

I have a rather small camera (an Olympus 750), so I bought a larger drybox on board and kept my KTTW card and camera in it. It was very convenient.

I'm wondering also if I should get a case for my camera... I'm not so worried about getting the card wet, my mom is going with me and doesn't do water much (she's ready to pick out a beach umbrella and a good book!!!) (And a Pina Colada...:thumbsup2 ) so I'll leave the card with her... (so she can charge her Pina Colada to ME!!!:lmao: )

If you need to keep your camera dry, here is a great website to get waterproof bags:

You can also get the dryboxes on the ship :thumbsup2 with the DCL logo on them. They range from $5-8...the smaller one being $5 of course.

We use a lanyard with id pocket around the ship. But when we get off the ship we use the drybox. IMO it's handy to have because you can stick your id, KTTW card, cc, and maybe some cash inside for shore excursions....and you never have to worry about leaving those things behind on the beach while you take a dip. We ended up getting one of each size. I like the smaller one best...BUT the larger one works best if your putting more than just a few cc sized card inside.

BTW...I can't tell you how many times I saw people leaving ID pouches with $ inside on thier beach chairs...or hanging from the umbrella because they couldn't take them in the water  To risky for me. I'd rather keep those things around my neck every moment I'm off the ship.

OH....you can also get the dry boxes at places like REI or REI.com That's where we actually got our first one....because we figured it would be twice as much on the ship...but it wasn't. It ended up being almost the same at REI...but the ones on the ship have the DCL logo on them :)

We got ours at REI also. I like the smaller ones size/weight wise, but when we were off the ship, I usually brought (or had DH bring) the larger size so we could fit lip balm, more cash, and change in there as well as IDs and KTTW card.

Maybe I'll check and see what REI has - my nieces are taking a NCL cruise in April for their graduation gift and I'm trying to get a care package together for each of them with stuff to take on the cruise (gathered ideas from the tips thread here on DIS!!!)

For me...maybe I'll wait until I'm on ship and see what I can get...I'm getting the id case anyway because I will use that to hold my KTTW card etc. when I hit the Poly after the cruise...

Thanks.

On last week's Magic cruise, Castaway Club members each received a Castaway Club lanyard. They worked great for carrying the KTTW cards. They were also selling lanyards, at the port and on board, that were less than ideal. They had a clip between the lanyared and the sleeve for holding the card, similar to a clip that connects the belt on a fanny pack. I found 3 of the sleeves, disconnected from the lanyard, on deck each with the KTTW card inside. Be careful if you buy one of these lanyards.

sounds like the sleeves or pockets weren't of very good quality... was it the sleeve or the clip that seemed to break?

What a nice idea ;) Don't forget to throw in an over the door shoe holder (and let them know what it' for);)

I've got everything on the list and the care package is getting quite nice... and expensive... I SHOULD BE GOING ON THE CRUISE!!!! :lmao: :lmao:

What is a drybox and where do I get one? I looked on REI and couldn't find one. We're going in April and need something to carry the Key and change, etc.
