Carrying everything - suggestions?

If it doesn't fit in my cargo pant's pockets, i don't bring it.

Dudes travel light. :thumbsup2

We each carry one water bottle & fill it up throughout the day.

Other than that......hands free.:hippie:

(sunglasses, camera, phone, key etc. go in cargo pockets. FPs & tickets go in wallet.)

If the men in your life don't wear khaki or khaki shorts with cargo pockets...get them to.....they'll never go back.

:3dglasses

DH loves the ones from Old Navy and I can usually get them for less then $20!:thumbsup2

So its been 12 years since my dh and I have been to DLR. We've never been with our kids so we'll definitely be lugging around more stuff then last time. I'm trying to decide what I should bring along to carry all that stuff around in DL.

I have a medium sized backpack for snacks and other necessities but in terms of our tickets/cash/ID, etc do you normally just put that in the backback or do you bring a money belt, purse or (gasp!) fanny pack?

And I haven't even gotten started on my camera(s)...

So what do you use to carry around everything at DL? I'm thinking about all the things that I need to make sure I have (sunblock, spare socks, snacks, water, dd's blanky, camera)... where am I going to put it all without looking like a bag lady...?

I don't carry i stuff into a locker. i fork out the $7 dollars to put all my stuff in a locker because it feels better and more relaxed when i don't have everything with me..besides a locker is worth while, you get them all day ( that means for the 12 or some hours your at the park) plus you can go to it and open it as many times as you need..:)

We should seriously consider this I guess. I haven't been in a long time... are there plenty available? We'll be there during presidents day weekend so it will be busy. Also, are they found all throughout the park? I know there are some outside the park but I'm assuming they are in multiple places inside as well.

If you get to the park early ( I assume you will if you have kids) you can get a locker you won't have a problem, they have them outside the parks and inside on main st by the coffee shop. That is the only two places I know if for Disneyland..i have gone late in the day never really had a problem not getting a locker, but I guess it's different during holidays. They have two sizes, small and large, small is $7 and large is $12. you will know if a locker section is sold out it will say this “ lockers filled please go to next section” or something like that. Im sure you will be fine when it comes to finding a locker

I have done the locker thing a few times and MUCH prefer to just carry all our items.

The main issue with this is that there's only 1 spot (that I know of) where the lockers are located. Inside DL, they are indeed right off Main St, past the stand that sells pickles. Now the problem is that you have to decide what to take and what to leave in your locker, especially if you have kids. And then when you decide you need to get something out of your locker you have to walk ALL the way back to Main St. If you're deep in the trenches at Toontown or visiting Pooh in Critter Country, this can be a real pain!:headache: There's already lots of walking, why add more?

If you have kids, you know that whatever they "need" from the locker, then need it RIGHT NOW! Frankly, there's just not that much that I would choose to leave in a locker (maybe sweatshirts/jackets, extra snacks) that would make it worth spending that much money.

My advice, travel light and if you have a stroller, just pile it on there!:thumbsup2

Hi Hound! Not that you remember me or anything....when I first came to the DIS years ago I just loved your advice. Nice to still see you around. I was just wondering last week if you were still around. :flower3:

Hi MommyWithDreams!! :hippie:

Thanks for the nice words. I just like to throw out opinions from a guy's point of view. :)

Navy, Khaki whatever.....the beauty of cargo shorts/pants is that cameras, cell phones etc. can be carried w/o one even feeling that they're there (unlike regular shorts pockets).

:cool2:

Well there's something to be said about a guy in a plain white T shirt and khaki's!

It's like a construction worker without the tool belt. Has everything he needs in those pockets.

These are good points... great advice! Thanks! Seems like there are pros and cons to the lockers.

I'm going to head out this weekend and try and find a baggalinni. Apparently a store nearby carries them. I gotta check these things out for myself :goodvibes

Don't! Wear you camera if you must, wallet in your pocket and a bottle of water in your hands... Unless of course your kids require special things like diapers or dietary items!

I Agree:thumbsup2. I carry nothing except my CC, Parkhopper, room key, a couple of wetwipes, a little cash and it all goes into my tiny camera bag that I wear across my body, under my hoodie so we don't even have to stop at bag check.
This trip I'll be wearing my new skinny cargos which have a zipper pocket so I won't even bother with the camera bag.

Granted DS is now 17, so I don't have to worry about the paraphernalia that accompanies little ones, but less is more.
