Carrying a bag onto rides

What happened is I'm used to running the buckle through the crossbody strap, to keep it close to my body and from flying in the air (like your bag). Once the seatbelt is locked, they can't be undone and the CM caught what I did and unlocked everyone's restraints, so we all had to refasten the seatbelts and give them a tug. I held the whole ride up. *blushes*

That's when you look around and act all innocent. "What purse? What seat belt? I don't know what you're talking about!" lol

Interesting... That's what I do every time I have a cross body purse with me, and no one has ever said a thing, even on ToT. ... I usually put the purse to my side, run the seatbelt over one strap and under the other, then belt up, and I've never had an issue.

Yeah, I've done the same as you at least 30+ times on ToT without a problem...except that one time. That's why I'm pointing it out that it could happen. :tilt:

I guess they trust riders to "hold onto" their belongings? That's a design flaw.

They aren't going anywhere. You are in a room. They aren't going to fly out anywhere. It's only lighter things that are going to float, and they aren't going to float very high.

I've gone on TOT with purses, bigger bags, shopping bags, etc etc. They don't fly off. They stay almost entirely put. If the bag won't get out of the way I put it between my feet and don't worry about it at all.

I don't actually worry about bags on any Disney rides. I hold on to some part of them with a hand or a foot; I loop a backpack strap around my leg on Screamin', I put them in the mesh thing on Soarin', I put them at my feet on Star Tours (or in the mesh thing but I've learned that they don't actually seem to care...I had a bag at my feet in the FRONT row in July and nothing was said). It just isn't a concern. They don't have the huge rides where bags will go flying.

Now baseball caps etc, those I hold on to.

I have a slightly different method for my bag (cross body). I take mine off, stuff it in the mesh pockets (on rides with them), but I leave the strap out and twist it around my wrist a couple of times. The bag is securely in the mesh pocket, the strap is loose enough that I'm not going to lose a hand, and holding the strap ensures I won't forget it.
