Has anyone been successful at packing the kid's carryons with all of their clothes for a week at WDW? I am going to have a carry-on and backpack for each of them and would like to limit our luggage amounts for check-in if possible. My kids are 7 and 5 so the clothes are still pretty small.

We do that every trip for a few years now!

My kids each have a rolling carry on for their clothes, plus a backpack for extras. I do the same. I went to TJ Maxx and got them cute colored ones (they stand out).

My kids will wear sneakers and just bring one pair of sandals, or maybe also flip flops for the pool. Plus enough clothes for 3 days.

We do laundry while there. I find it's easier to do this than to wait for luggage that has been checked. Also, our bags don't get as nasty dirty and scuffed up as much this way.

We did this last summer and just planned on doing laundry. It worked out well (though I did check one bag with a bunch of extras like the over the door shoe hanger etc). It was relatively simple, though, because it was summer and not much clothing to worry about. Now I am going to try it for our winter break trip down south (not disney). I am hoping each person will, again, do their rolling suitcase and then I may, again, check one bag. We definitely do laundry when on our winter break trip so I really don't need to pack as much as I used to in the past.

can kids bring an extra bag to carry on? mine each have a rolling bag, and we wanted to bring only carry on but becuase it is DEC we may need more summer/winter cloths so that is making packing there stuff into 1 bag impossible. we are only there 5 days. but i need shorts/tees, capris/long sleeves/long pants, sweaters for evening/bathing suit
but if they can bring an extra small bag with books/stuffed toy etc it would be great

Every passenger is allowed a carry on plus personal bag. There is no difference between adult and child (if there was I would ask for a child's discount on airfare).
