Recently I think someone posted the rules for DCL carryons. I cannot find the thread. Can some one give the link or the rules. Someone in my FE group has questions and I do not want to steer the family wrong.

There used to be a specific size noted for carry ons, but I believe it's been removed from the DCL website. It was 22X14X9. It must fit through a standard airport scanner.
Beverages must be in carry on bags. Each guest 21 and over is allowed to bring onboard 2 bottles of wine/champagne (750ml max ea) OR 6 beers (12oz max ea). And, yes this means, if you have 3 bottles smaller than 750ml each, but still lower than the 1500ml total limit, you can only bring 2 of them onboard.
You aren't limited on the number of carry ons you have. Just be aware that you must be able to handle them all until your room is ready (usually around 1:30).
Q.What should I know about bringing my own food and/or ice chest on board the ship?
A.In order to create a safe, healthy and enjoyable cruise experience for all our Guests, we ask you to take note of the following guidelines concerning bringing your own food and ice chests on board. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
You may not bring:
Homemade, precooked or perishable foods or open food containers.
Ice chests or coolers, except as noted below.
Electrical appliances such as rice cookers, hot plates, coffee makers, blenders, bottle sterilizers and bottle warmers
We do have a limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers available upon request through Guest Services. In addition, you can request hot water to be delivered to their stateroom at any time from room service.
You are welcome to bring:
Nonperishable, government-approved snack foods in sealed, original packaging. All items must either be consumed prior to returning to your home port or remain unopened.
Breast milk, in carry-on luggage only.
Coolers no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" [30.5cm x 30.5cm x 30.5cm], as carry-on luggage only for storing medications, baby food or items related to dietary restrictions only.
Unless they're trying to bring on something illegal, the worst case is that it's confiscated at entry and they have to pick it up when they disembark or it's disposed of. They won't be prevented from embarking. If it's too big to go through the scanners they'll simply be asked to check it through regular baggage handling.
Basically what DCL is looking for is something that could potentially bring aboard some bug that doesn't belong there or possibly end up in another country. Its actually not DCLs rule but Department of Agricultures I think. Its one of the alphabet soup organizations. I looked into it when we got married on the Magic in 2010. DCL just enforces it.
If you bring a small 1 person cereal box for example, unopened, DCL wont care. A Tupperware container of nuts, and pretzels on the other hand they may make you dump it before boarding. Definitely no fruit.
