I know you can't carry liquids unless in 3 oz containers in the quart size bag but has anyone carried on fruit such as grapes or oranges that are more juicy. I won't bother bringing them if they'll just get confiscated.

Thanks much!

Fruit is fine (even watermelon, which is something like 93% water ;)) but juice from the same fruits would be confiscated.

A lot of people use frozen grapes as an 'ice pack', to keep other food carried onboard cold. You can then eat these if you want - just freeze them in plastic bags.

Do you know if I can carry on a subway sandwich?

You can carry all kinds of prepared foods through security, just no sodas or coffees or containers of milk, etc.

Although condiments, such as mayo and mustard, are fine if they are ON the sandwich, but fall under the 3-1-1 rules for liquids and gels if they are in a packet! So if you have a packet of mayo with your sandwich, it will need to be smaller than 3 oz. and be put into your zip-lock bag.

The wisdom of the TSA at work for you. Maybe there are concerns that pilots could be poisoned by spoiled mayonnaise?

So I need to pack my glasses cleaning fluid? Oh man! At least they cant take away my microfiber cloth!
