So regarding the "bring 2 bottles of wine in carry on" ... Are there restrictions on what you can use for carry on luggage? We will be flying from Vancouver to Disneyland, doing some days at Disneyland, then getting transportation to San Diego for the repositioning cruise from San Diego back home to Vancouver, so I won't really be feeling like trying to pack like on an airplane if not necessary.... Does our 2 bottles of wine have to be in our actual carry on bags, or can we just carry them on? (like in a shopping bag or whatever?) What about cheesies? I'm super weird, I love red wine and cheesies, so would love to bring a bit of both on board for my evening treat :D If we get an extra duffle bag, can we put all of our wine in the same bag (there will be 3 adults, so 6 bottles in one bag?)

I had never heard of Cheesies, but looks like they're some sort of packaged snack, yes? If so, you should be fine as long as you have unopened bags of them. Per the DCL website: "You are welcome to bring: Nonperishable snack foods in sealed, original packaging. All items must either be consumed prior to returning to your home port or remain unopened." I brought on several packaged salty snacks on our last cruise (Pringles, Chex Mix) as I found the DCL selection to be lacking in that department.

I'm not sure about the combining the wine into one bag but that seems reasonable to me...as far as the bag itself, I don't think they care what it is as long as you're taking it with you and not leaving the wine in your checked luggage.

The restriction for the carry-ons is that they need to fit in the x-ray machine. Since it is larger than at an airport and can fit a large travel case, it usually is not an issue. You can have multiple bags, so the bottles can be in pretty much any type of bag. I don’t think they will let you carry them by hand…

The allowed bottles can all be together as long as the adults bringing them on are there together. You can’t bring the bottle allowance of someone planning to board separately.

A shopping bag or grocery bag will work for your wine. If using something else putting 3-4 bottles in one bag as long as you are more than one adult will be fine as well.

Yes you can carry it on but you will have to keep it with you until cabins are ready usually about 2pm.

No, your wine doesn't need to be in your bags, you just have to carry them yourself onto the ship. They do need to be in a bag or wine bottle holder/tote - you cannot just carry the bottles on board. Yes, you can have all the bottle of wine together as long as you're all arriving at the port and checking in and boarding together. Personally I'd recommend an insulated tote for the wine, since it will give you some protection for the glass bottles and make it easier to carry around until your room is ready since they have a strap you can wear on your shoulder.

As for the Cheesies, as long as they're closed and prepackaged, you should be fine to bring them on board.

good point! So something with wheels would be best--or putting some lighter clothing into a shoulder bag and putting heavier wine bottles into the carry on suitcase

Cheese is perishable, so ? as to whether allowed. (I‘m guessing cheesies is a fun name for cheese.).

You can get the All-Aboard cheese plate from room service for the cost of a gratuity (amount is your discretion). Wine and cheese at Sail Away on your balcony seems to be a tradition for many cruisers. (It’s available every day).

I had to look up what they were too. ;)
The cheese board is always wonderful on board. I'd highly recommend it.
