Carry on luggage strickness

hello,
the carry on I'd like to bring meets the 22 x 14 x 9 requirements when it's empty but when it's full it's closer to 10 1/2 vs 9 thick. Do you think they'll make me check it?

An airline might - depends on how full the flight is and if they are sizing and if it fits in their overhead bins. As for the ship, as long as it goes through the scanner it should be fine.

I agree. The airlines can be quite strict, but the ship isn't. I had Delta once insist I check a carry on because it was slightly too thick to fit in their sizer. It was on the 3rd leg of a trip of a flight with 2 plane changes and the prior 2 Delta flights had let it on without a second glance.
