I will be traveling to the World in March/April, and i will have my 6 YO sis with me, and i was wondering what is a comfortable bag that would not be to baggy to carry around. Mainly for Camera, wallet, hand sant, and a few other things we may need. Im looking for comfort, and as far as it being small enough not to have to leave it outside the ride. I carried a camera pack last time, and it fit fine on all rides, but i need suggestions of something a little bigger!!

My last visit to the park, I went with my two daughters 5 and 7 at the time. I took two bags into the park with me and it worked out fantastic.

One bag was a small fanny pack. I used this to carry any small items that I would need to access frequently. i.e. Key to the World Card, sunglasses, maps.

The other bag was a small camcorder bag. This was large enough to hold my camera (a bigger one), plus 3 water bottles, and a small supply of granola bars.

The key is to have a bag large enough to hold everything you need, but small enough to take with you on the rides. Also, you will definately want a strap on every bag so you can wear it and not have to hold it all day long.

I'd suggest first figuring out everything you will want for the day and gather it together. Then stuff it into a small plastic bag (i.e. from target, walmart, grocery). This will give you a good estimate for the size you will need. Then look for the smallest bag you own that can fit everything. And if you need to buy a new one, at least you now will know the size.

Hope that Helps!

my DD had a bagallini messenger bag, the kind that fits across your body or you could sling it over one arm. It was not large at all, she could fit all she needed without being overloaded and she rode all the rides with it.
Comes in lots of colors
I got mine here- http://www.cherrylanepillows.com/html/16154.html.
I also like the large wallet bagallinni's I can fit a whole lot in them, including camera, phone, poncho and plenty more.

I use a mini-backpack. It's perfect. I can take it on all the rides and it carries everything nicely.

I second the backpack :thumbsup2 Very hassle free compared to, say, tote/shoulder bags, doesn't look silly, and carries lots! Choose one with lightweight material.

Last trip we varied b/t a cross body llbean, vera hipster, and small vera backpack. All fit very comfortably on the ride. My fav was the hipster, b/c it went across your body so no slipping off your shoulder, but it also made everything very assesible. DH wasn't having to get eveything or no taking it off to get something as with the backpack.

Invest in a Mountainsmith Lumbar Day Pack with the strappettes. This pack is perfect for Disney and any other hiking/walking places that you may go. They are kind of pricey, but you can carry everything you need and all the weight is distributed so no aching shoulders or back!!

Hurray!!! The happiest day of our lives was when we could go to the parks bagless! I carry a bag that is 4 X 6 and about 1inch thick just for $, KTTK card, and a few other items I may need (a band-aid, a wipe or two, etc). My DH was a dear and carried a backpack for years!

Thanks for all your ideas!! I did my research online and going into local stores trying out different bags, and have decided i am going with the vera bradley hipster!!! :lovestruc I fell in love with the way it fits, and im pretty sure i can carry on all rides since it goes across my body, and dont slide off. Im pretty sure i can fit everything in the bag I wanna carry, and still have room!! But thaks again for all your help!! :yay:

That's exactly what I bought for our September trip to WDW. It was perfect. Held everything & looked great. I got it on clearance, too, so that made it even better!! Have fun on your trip. :santa:

I also used a small backpack, you can find them in the purse department at your local store. I think it was $7 and was the best money I have ever spent. It was the perfect size and you don't need to wear it like a backpack, you can put it over one shoulder and you are fine. I still use mine at home as a purse sometimes.

I have been reading and re-reading these posts about what kind of bag to bring into the parks and I can't figure out how a backpack doesn't get in the way while on rides. What do you do with them when you are struggling for space on rides? Just curious.

I don't think I could do a shoulder bag or a backpack because I feel like it would be holding me down (has nothing to do with weight). Also if I need to tie shoes or whatever I won't have to worry about a bag falling off me. Too much trouble.

Thats why i decided on the hipster its small and it fits on the rides easy, and it goes across your body so it wont fall off. I just purchased my VB hipster online for 20 dollars for my upcomg trip~!!!!

So it's okay to take a backpack in and have snacks (PB&J) for the kids and water bottles? No problem? Thanks.
