Planning a trip for end of May 2005. What do you think of the CB or should we go with Port Orleans Riverside or FQ. I haven't seen much on CB and most of it not very favorable.

There are many people that love CBR. You truly feel like you have escaped to the islands.

CBR is great for watching the Epcot fireworks also. It is great being able to sit on the beach and watch the fireworks.

You might want to read the threads listed below for lots of info about CBR. I also have lots of pictures on my websites.

I'm a CBR lover, the theme is wonderful, the grounds are very nice, and I love the larger "resort" feel it has. Some people don't like CBR becuase it is so spread out, but with most things it just depends on where you are located and who you are traveling with and what your preferences are. You should check out a map on www.allearsnet.com under accomodations. Parts of Martinique and Trinidad North are preferred (read cost more), but Aruba and Jamiaca are also very close to the foodcourt/main pool (about a 5 minute walk or so over the lake). CBR also has the largest rooms (340 sq ft.) of any other moderates (others are 314 sq. ft.) plus it has a great location very central fast trips to MGM/Epcot/DTD. I hope this helps :D .

We love CBR!
I reccomend Jamaica or Aruba. It is a short walk across the island to get to the main pool & restaurants. Very good food court and a relaxing sit-down in Shutter's.
The CBR is our favorite for the price!

thanks to all of you who responded this really helps. I feel better now.

We loved CBR!
We were in Trinidad North and it was so close to everything (although I think that is considered a preferred location now). The landscaping is beautiful. We felt very secluded and away from it all which was nice after long days in the parks. Our room was immaculate and we had great service from every CM we came into contact with. We liked the food court and LOVED the quiet pools (but it was just DH and me - if you have kids I'm sure they will love the themed pool.)
Have a great time!

Just returned from CBR on 12/2-12/6. It was our first time staying in a moderate (usually stay at Wilderness Lodge - which we love) and I have to say I was very impressed! Yes, it is more expansive and you have to walk a little to get to Center Town, but the walk is beautiful to go through center oasis and look around the lake at all the different villages. We stayed in Jamaica and were very happy - also first bus stop on park bus route (comes in handy if busy time and you want a seat!). It was very colorful and the theming was excellent for that Caribbean feel! My 10 DS felt he liked the theming better than Wilderness Lodge, but still likes WL pool a little better.

I did get a chance to go over to Port Orleans to see the resort. I was waivering whether to stay at PO (most people's favorite mod) or Caribbean (not rated to high by board members). I have to say, as lovely as the PO grounds were, it is a little to dark (bayou feel - yes, I realized this is the whole theming) for my tastes and I enjoyed the wonderful colors at CBR. I will say that the restaurant at PO is very neat! I don't think its a resort for me, but that may also be because we are used to WL (pines, woods, etc...) and we wanted something different this time.

I say go with the resort that sounds to your liking and experience it - if you don't like then you know for next time. Good luck!

Hi All... I am staying with my 2 kids and my husband at the CB in January. I was wondering if anyone knows if the hotel has safty bed rails for kids, as I am going to be sleeping with my ds who is 2 1/2. I am worried he may wiggle out of the bed. I know there will be no way he will stay in a pack-in -play once he sees his sister in a bed!!
I hope someone can answer this question, that way I will know if I need to pack one in my suitcase!!
Thanks in advance!!

We spent three weeks at CBR this year and loved it to bits, couldn't fault it at all. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were courteous and efficient.

Whatever resort you look at, there will be a complaint from somebody. Considering how many members Disboards has, this is hardly surprising. Often complaints have roots in a series of misunderstandings. As long as arrangements are clear and you check things more than once, not much can go wrong. We left CBR the day after Hurricane Charley and we were very impressed with the way the resort coped. They even opened OPR (the food court & shop complex) later than usual after having to close it briefly on the evening of the hurricane.

I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Book and enjoy!

I have a feeling you can request them. Safetymom has a thread (or two) dedicated purely to CBR. That's the best place to have a look or ask questions about CBR. See her links at the bottom of her post above.

Thanks for your help! I am still trying to navigate through this board!!
