This year we wanted to stay somewhere new so we are trying CBR. Just wondering if anybody had opinions/info on it, or any helpful tips? Is it very noisy? My DBF wants something quieter-the noise at the All Stars drives him nuts. Just want to be sure we're making the right choice!

Been there a couple of timess. It's a large resort and very quiet and relaxing. We loved it. Food at Port Royal is good.

We also love CBR. It was the first moderate Disney built, and the rooms are a bit larger than the other moderates.

CBR is much quieter than any of the value resorts. You'll definitely notice a huge difference ;)

AND they are remodeling the main pool!!!!! (opening 9/08)

We stayed one night in December in the Aruba building..It was getting a little run down..Jamaica looked redone..Also, it is huge and if you are dependent on the bus too big..Several stops at each building before you leave the resort and a long walk to the bus stop...I wouldn't return without a car at least..It is pretty though...

Aruba our building 51...

I did not find the walk to the bus stop long at all. Each village has its own bus stop. And yes, the buses stop at each village, but they are only at each stop for a few seconds. This was not an issue for us at all.

To be close to the food court, reserve a preferred room (which will be in Martinique or Trinidad North), or reserve a standard room and request Jamaica or Aruba.

Thanks for all the info! DBF will be very relieved and it looks beautiful in all of the pictures. And I'm happy we'll be there after the pool is redone!

You must have been more fortunate in your location then I..We were in Aruba but discovered the stop in Jamaica was closer..Still a hike..
But then again, I am a Grandma and have less energy then I used to...:scared1:

Love the pictures! I am so looking forward to our CBR stay. :cool1:

It is a great resot. The rooms are fantastic. Very spacious and roomy. One of my favorite Disney Resorts.

We were in Jamaica 45, which seemed to be the perfect location! I have requested the same building for our upcoming trip in June. Aruba 51 was my second choice.

Can I ask where you got the 9/8 date for the pool reopening? Everything I've found just says "mid September."

Only asking because we're probably going 9/6 - 9/13 and we were considering CBR for the first time until we found out the pool would be closed. I could live without it for 2 days, but not for the whole trip.

I know they have smaller "quiet" pools, but figured with the main pool being closed, the smaller ones would be more crowded and not so quiet.

Thanks.

I suspect they meant 9/2008, not 9/8. It is supposed to open 9/15. Keep checking the CBR resort thread. If there is a change in date, you can bet safetymom will have it updated there.

Aruba 51 is a good location for the bridge to the food courts, but we didn't go there. Unfortunately it was the furthest from their bus stop though.

I totally agree. I've been to CBR three times and always stay in Aruba 51. It's a real easy walk to Old Port Royal and even the quiet pool. And we also use the Jamaica bus stop. If you cut through the Jamaica village instead of walking the parking lot, it's really not that bad of a walk.

To the OP, I say go for it. CBR is beautiful and quiet. Plenty of quiet spots to hang out in on the walk to OPR and you can't beat the hammocks on the beach at night. Check out the picture on the CBR picture thread on this board. Sorry I can't post a link maybe someone else can.

We stayed at CBR 2 years ago and loved it. The only reason we aren't staying there this trip is due to the main pool being closed.

We were in Trinidad North and never heard a peep when we were in our room. Our quiet pool was always that, quiet. Never more than us and another family in it at the same time. And the main pool was relaxing even when it was a little crowded.

We stayed one night at Pop; - you can't even begin to compare.
