Carribean Beach Resort

We are thinking about staying at the Carribean Beach Resort but I'm not sure because the main pool will be closed for repairs. Has anyone stayed there recently? The Disney website also said there would be extra children's activities since the pool will be closed. Does anyone know what those activities are?
